Sourcing Antiques ??? Where to start ? You could start very young like me - I bought my first piece when I was 12 - I still have it and love it. OR  you can let me, or someone else who has spent years fossicking about amongst old stuff…. do it for you. Auction houses, antique markets, fairs, your Grannies  cupboards - there’s a rich hunting field if you know where to look…… and what you’re looking for !! I source for  Clients all the time and would love to assist you to find that amazing piece which will complete your Interior. I also have some gems available on our website - onerundleinteriors.com.au

An all-time Classic. We have been working with these Clients (who are now dear friends) since 2005 - this is the Formal Room - which was only visited for Christenings and Christmas - this space, which we created 23 years ago, is still fresh, super appealing and classic - isn’t that what we all hope to achieve for our Interiors? If you would like to create timeless Interiors, please reach out, we would love to hear from you.

Last week I visited one of my dear friends, Dom from Unley Antiques @antiquerestorationsofunley His knowledge is amazing, his restoration skills are remarkable and he’s happy to talk nonsense about antiques all day - he also makes a lovely peppermint tea 🫖 I rely on Dom to breathe life back in to many of my treasures and cannot wait to check back and see what magic he can perform on my latest piece from @smallandwhitfield ✨🪄

The Auction houses of Adelaide have been my happy place for decades ☺️ I worked in an Auction House in London for a year, which was amazing, but nothing beats our local Houses for fun, colour and unexpected treasures. Today I was collecting some pieces from @smallandwhitfield I purchased earlier the week. But time doesn’t stand still in an auction house, no sooner is one sale done than they are setting up the next …

Last week we were back on site at The Stillhouse – a project we have absolutely loved shaping throughout 2024/2025. Set within the Clare Valley Distillery, this new accommodation is designed to offer a truly memorable Airbnb experience. The outdoor space; the last piece in the puzzle, is taking shape beautifully. One Rundle Interiors brought the initial concept for the space, Rob Cooper @distinctivegardens_design added significantly to our ideas, but the historic Reisling trail which is nestled alongside the property and the superb South Australian Bush, which is everywhere in Clare, started and finished the story. All made possible because of our shared amazing clients @clare.valley.distillery Excited to see this next stage take shape!

Antiques & Aboriginal Art … a curious combination ? Not at all ! Beautiful, intriguing pieces generally work together very successfully in an Interior. Here are some examples from Interiors we have created.

Looking through previously commissioned artworks, we came across this beautiful piece by Marshall Robertson. Watiya-Warna Jukurrpa (Seed Dreaming) reflects a deep connection to Country – its landforms, plants, and animals – expressed through layered storytelling and tradition. We work closely with a range of artists and can assist in commissioning a meaningful, one-of-a-kind piece to complete your interior. For commissions, contact Josephine at [email protected].

A pendant that instantly caught our eye while sourcing for a project in the Adelaide Hills. Its sculptural form features layered, pleated sections that create soft movement and refined texture. Suspended from a minimal cord, it feels light and airy, while its neutral tone and asymmetrical curves make it a striking yet elegant focal point, working beautifully in both commercial and residential settings. We’ve also included some fascinating images from production in Italy, revealing the intricate detailing behind this piece. As you can see from the behind the scenes images, these lights are 100% hand made. They are generally made to order, sometimes clients are lucky and the Australian Agent has stock on hand. We are delighted to make enquiries on behalf of our Clients, to assist with the selection process and to oversee the ordering process once everything has been decided. To enquire please contact [email protected] and Josephine would be delighted meet with you for a no-obligation consultation. This is your opportunity to explore ideas, discuss your vision, and see how a collaboration might unfold.

Our philosophy at one Rundle has always been “ … anything but ordinary “ I think that is why we are regularly told that our Interiors are timeless and why our clients return to us decades later, to embellish but never to fundamentally replace, the Interiors we lovingly create with them and for them. These remarkable pendants certainly fulfil our philosophy, which is why we have recently specified all of them, over a couple of projects. Intriguing Alabaster Orbs, enormous handblown spheres softened with a pleated linen core, which can be modified for each project, an enormous whimsical elongated pendant, which looks like a paper clip. We would love to help you create your own extra-ordinary Interior …

Phewwww..... Keiko approves 🐾 We have just had this jute rug created for a lovely project in Toorak Gardens. It has instantly added another layer of warmth and character to the elegant space. We can create custom rugs in virtually any size and have them professionally finished in Adelaide by a fabulous local suppliers. Natural fibres are durable and designed for real life - this rug will wear gracefully over time. Its rich texture and organic tones make it a perfect addition to most interiors, adding both comfort and visual depth. If you’re considering a custom rug for your space, we would be delighted to explore options with you, just send us a DM or an email on [email protected] Even a simple addition to a space can create significant impact.

This is one of my favourite pendants. They are handmade in India and best described as a “crocheted steel“ mesh, which sounds a bit wild, but which creates a fabulous, handcrafted texture, an organic shape and wonderful, finely diffused light 💡 The pendants are available in a variety of shapes, they can be hung in clusters, and the large versions look brilliant hung low over a table. The advantage of slightly eccentric, handmade pieces is that they don’t seem to date. If you have a room that needs a light fitting, or furniture, we are always delighted to provide our thoughts and some options for you. Just send an image or 2 and we can see what we can achieve remotely !! We would love to hear from you. Please DM us for the details of these lights, which we can have shipped direct to you, or with any enquiries you may have for your personal or business interior.

This was a project for a client in the Adelaide Hills quite a few years ago. The position, just out of Hahndorf is magical. The house, built in the 1980s had nice proportions but no architectural features to accentuate. So, we got to work … We removed doors and laid new oak boards throughout the entire downstairs area to create a lovely sense of space and flow which had been lacking. We removed unnecessary and distracting window coverings and then added these bold horizontal stripes in a small dining room. The space came alive and the carefully selected blue works, magically with the bush beyond the existing pane windows. Many years on and it’s still a lovely, fresh space 🙌🏻 If you’re planning an upcoming project or would like expert advice on any aspect of your interior, I offer complimentary, no-obligation consultations. It’s a great opportunity to explore your ideas, discuss your vision, and see how we can help you create a space that feels anything but ordinary. Email [email protected] or send us a DM to start the conversation.
