In my M division bracket FINALS, I made a critical mistake but was determined to come back stronger by entering the Open Class M division where podium winners from all weight classes are pitted against each other. Those who truly know me know my determination + tenacity; I always come back stronger + that’s exactly what I did. In the semi-finals, I was matched up against the Middleweight Champ who was strong asf. I won by advantage (but I thought I got the single leg takedown). Lost the Open Finals 0-0 ref’s decision. Thank you the ladies who shared the mats with me today + tested my skills.

Competing in JiuJitsu isn’t for everyone. While many, like me, have a burning desire to compete, others shy away from the intensity & pressure. And that’s OK. At the end of the day, the journey is different for everyone & that’s what makes JiuJitsu so special. It’s a community made up of people from all walks of life who come together to become better versions of themselves.

After every comp, I always take time to compartmentalize areas of opportunities; if you have this mindset in business + in life, I truly believe you’ll always become better from those losses + mistakes. Your desired outcomes will come if you stay consistent.
