Most of you would have noticed our large hoarding on 88 Queensway Road, Pacific Place by now. It’s hard to miss. This shop would have been our new Hong Kong flagship and we were very much looking forward to serving you in our new space this spring. At least that was our intention.
We had signed our lease for 88 Queensway in August 2024 and construction was meant to commence mid-October. In the midst of preparing all this, Swire Properties (landlord) had informed us that the immediate area outside our new shop would become a construction site for a new development with MTR Corporation in the foreseeable future. This was a shock to all of us to say the least. You can imagine the inconvenience this would have caused our customers and the general working environment. We spent the subsequent weeks finding possible solutions to persevere ahead, but every path lead to an unfavourable outcome and the risks involved were out of our control. So regretfully, we took the very difficult decision to give up the space, as it was clear the location was no longer ideal for commercial / retail use.
Despite this setback, we remain positive and our collaboration with Swire Properties does not end here. We will be opening inside the mall later this summer (TBA), to serve the Pacific Place community. And we would be looking to repossess the space on 88 Queensway when it becomes available again. おそらく多くの皆様は、すでに「88 Queensway Road, Pacific Place」にある私たちの大きな看板に気づかれていると思います。とても目立つ場所です。この店舗は、私たちの新しい香港フラッグシップ店となる予定で、この春、新たな空間で皆様をお迎えできることを心待ちにしていました。少なくとも、それが私たちの計画でした。
私たちは2024年8月に「88 Queensway」の賃貸契約を締結し、工事は10月に開始される予定でした。しかし、準備を進める最中、大家であるスワイヤー・プロパティーズ（Swire Properties）から、新店舗のすぐ外側のエリアが、MTRコーポレーションとの新規開発工事現場となることが伝えられました。これは私たちにとって大きな衝撃でした。お客様にとっての不便や、営業環境への影響は想像に難くありません。その後数週間、可能な解決策を模索しましたが、どの選択肢も望ましい結果につながらず、リスクは私たちの手に負えないものでした。そのため、残念ながら、この場所が商業・小売用途に適さないことが明らかとなったため、非常に苦渋の決断でこのスペースを諦めることにしました。
このような挫折があったものの、私たちは前向きに進んでいます。今年の夏後半には、パシフィック・プレイス内に新店舗をオープンする予定です。温かい応援メッセージやお問い合わせをくださった皆様、ありがとうございます。混乱をおかけしたことをお詫び申し上げます。

We recently confirmed two more locations (overseas) and will bring our global store count to 13 total — and counting.
As the world reopens for travel, our communities are still impacted. I am extremely proud of our teams efforts, as we continue this journey to bring our koffee to new and unique destinations around the globe.
