Instruments, an exhibition featuring Elisa Lendvay, Lucas Yasunaga, Michelle Rosenberg, Pohan and Bohyun Yoon. Curated by @omiroad A collaboration with @interluderesidency and @tanjagrunertgallery in Hudson, NY. Opening Saturday May 24th from 3-7 on view until June 15th. These artists examine how we measure, collect, and assemble to gain insight and connection with our universe. Michelle Rosenberg transforms discarded household objects into compelling new implements. Pohan measures and stores biological data, creating charged installations that illuminate histories. Bohyun Yoon uses glass to create absurd performative instruments. Elisa Lendvay collects the remnants of human activities and natural phenomena, caressing them into spiritual impliments of our age. Lucas Yasunaga captures light and motion, transmuting them into electronic musical instruments. In our current time where data is both revered and is skewed for personal interest, and and artificial intelligence becomes a daily tool this group of artists asserts the primacy and importance of the human instrument. @elisalendvay @dancefacehumanstew @michellerosenberg__ @bobobo_yoon With gracious thanks to @elsiekaganstudio and @aliceflanneryfall . #elisalendvay #michellerosenbergart #pohan #bohyunyoon #lucasyasunaga

Over the past semester, I have been working with seven student curators at Miss Hall’s school on the exhibition “Within These Walls” which draws inspiration from the student’s feelings of home. The exhibition will open at The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, Pittsfield this Friday from 7-9 with additional open hours on Saturday from 12-3. Each student curator selected an artist whose work resonated with their experience. The works range from Lydia Kern’s dried flower reliquaries, Jess Staph’s tufted windows, Polly Shindler’s cozy interiors, Catherine McTague’s ghostly paintings, Sara J Winston’s intimate family portrait, Cecilia Lu’s video documenting her family Qingming celebration, Chris Bordenca’s vibrant vintage toy paintings and Marguerite Bride’s masterful Berkshire watercolors. I hope you can come out and support this exciting show. @jstapfart @lydeia @c_mctague @chris_bordenca_art @pollyshindler @zcecilialu @margebride @sarajwinston

Dropped this little pot off @labspace for the Holiday show. I made a lot of these lil bud vases in my porch studio when the flowers were blooming all around. After a weekend of driving all over VT and NY I almost didn’t make it over to Hillsdale today. But when I got there I saw @stuartfarmery and @brian_wood_ny and the shinning stars of Labspace @julieatorres and @eletcher . I was reminded that Art is about connection and community. We are lucky to have this show as beacon of light for our incredible upstate art community in a season that feels extra dark for so many. Grateful to have something to celebrate. Opening December 14th 1-5 PM. See you there.

Overwhelmed with gratitude for @arnela_mahmutovic who generously shared her work, practice and story with the students at Miss Hall’s. There were many beautiful moments of connection with the work and the artist. The show Collective Memory is on view at The Klein Art Center at Miss Hall’s school in Pittsfield until October 6th. Viewing by appointment. Please ask/dm me to see the show. I will make it happen.

Celebrated the solstice, scheming about pollinator parties, sharing community gratitude, swimming across Round Pond, and eating noodles and flowers in a thunder storm. Happy Summer Solstice #letgazalive. @yummykitchenny
