Interlude Artist Residency presents...⁠⠀ ⠀ 'The Bird and the Fish', curated by Nicole Hayes⠀ ⠀ Is there equity in any ecosystem? Is what's good for the child good for the parent? How do we create balance where everyone's needs are met without endangering the other?⠀ ⠀ 'The Bird and the Fish' is Interlude's first curated on-site exhibition, bringing together 12 current and former artists in residence for UAW. The show sprawls across Interlude's grounds and studios just outside Hudson, NY. Weaving, sculpting, and repurposing the cast-offs of our world, these artists explore balance within organic, industrial, and social ecosystems.⠀ ⠀ Artists are both the sparkling, alien fish of the watery underworld and the bird fueled by hubris dancing across the sky. In symbiosis they persist — creating worlds from broken tiles, industrial and domestic excess, homespun wool, and grass — letting us know we will go on, even still.⠀ ⠀ Featuring work by Capucine Bourcart, Mira Burack, Jason Carey-Sheppard, Kat Chamberlain, Shanti Grumbine, Elsie Kagan, Rainy Lehrman, Colin Lyons, Matthew Mann, Gal Nissim, Lauren Portada, and Hannah Rowan.⠀ ⠀ Reception 4-7pm Friday, hands-on art activities for all ages Saturday & Sunday and free refreshments.⠀ ⠀ ✨ OPEN HOURS ✨⁠⠀ Friday, June 26 | 4 PM - 7 PM⠀ Saturday, June 27 | 12 PM - 6 PM⠀ Sunday, June 28 | 12 PM - 6 PM⠀ ⠀ Free and open to the public. We are already saying goodbye to our industrious March artists @ktzulan and @lportadada , who will be missed. Luckily, as signs of Spring begin to pop up, we have a lot to look forward to! We have @jasoncareysheppard on site today with curator @omiroad , making plans for site specific work during @upstateartweekend . Stay tuned for news about our big group exhibition in June ☀️
