Thank you so much. Being nominated for a Tony Award is honestly beyond anything I imagined when I first stepped into a rehearsal room and fell in love with theater.
To be recognized alongside so many extraordinary artists is deeply humbling. Theater is never created alone — it’s built by companies, casts, crews, musicians, stage managers, designers, writers, directors, and every person backstage making magic happen night after night.
I want to thank my incredible team and everyone involved in this production for believing in the work and in me. Thank you to my family and friends for supporting me through the uncertainty, the long rehearsals, and every high and low that comes with this career.
Most importantly, thank you to the audiences. Live theater exists because people continue to gather together to feel something real, and that connection means everything.
This nomination is an honor I will carry with me forever. Thank you.
Purr! 😼 Sometimes you have to speak it directly into existence. 🎭 Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons are now Tony Award nominees for Best Choreography, with Cats: The Jellicle Ball earning a total of nine nominations.
Excerpts from @catsjellicleball panel at Works & Process at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, moderated by nightlife & ballroom archivist Sailey Williams.
Co-director Bill Rauch joined choreographers and New York City Ballroom legends Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons, alongside music supervisor and director William Waldrop, for a conversation on bringing ballroom to the Broadway stage.
