Today will be my last performance with NDT2. I am eternally grateful for the people I’ve met, gotten the pleasure to work with and the never ending support. It is impossible to list all the incredible artists that were part of this journey, but just know I thank you sincerely. Your combined wealth of knowledge and understanding is too vast to put into words.
I am excited to share that I will be continuing my journey with NDT1 next season and cannot wait to keep learning.

INTERVIEW | Omani Ormskirk (25 jaar) groeide op in Rotterdam en wist als kind al dat ze later bij Nederlands Dans Theater wilde dansen. Dat is gelukt! Na de havo/vwo voor Muziek en Dans van Codarts te hebben gedaan, werd ze aangenomen bij de prestigieuze dansopleiding van Juilliard in New York City, en daarna mocht ze direct bij NDT 2 aan de slag. Ook haar choreografietalent valt op. Haar duet is namelijk geselecteerd voor de Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition!

Duet number 5 is created by @omaniso_ . She is the choreographer of ‘Duet for Kele and Thalia’, which is a piece that challenges the dancers to use their techinque and dare to look at it from another perspective. The movements are created to trigger a reaction.

“To dance Minus 16 is an exhilarating experience and one that is also completely new to me. This work comes with many variables we have to deal with on stage, but there is also lots of room for play. What excites me is how we can find ways to stay true to the integrity of the work and simultaneously let go of our own restrictions that inhibit us from connecting to ourselves as humans. As I am exploring this in the studio and on stage, I invite you as the audience to play with us and let yourself, too, be free.”
