five days before my life-saving double mastectomy and chest masculinization surgery.
i asked Sauphia if they would help me capture this chest on film before my surgery.
to help me say goodbye.
throughout the shoot i kept moving to
hold myself.
a final expression of gratitude.
and as i held this layer of me
i felt release.
and i said “thank you
for carrying me this far”.

and dr. rob's words are so very true. it is only the beginning. i can't wait for the next steps forward in my healing. in living my truth. and fully inhabiting this body of mine.
a body in which i am blessed to have autonomy. it is a privilege to have access to gender affirming healthcare. and the community care and support i have received. thank you to every heart that helped me in this pursuit.
