My client and friend sent me this clip of her husband watching their wedding film for the first time. For real, Michael’s (the groom’s) reaction to re-feeling his wedding day again, the gravity of how meaningful it is to them, is the motivation behind this lil camera stuff I like to do. When planning a wedding, you’ll make tough decisions choosing the tangible items - flowers, venue, cake, decor, etc. It’s a huge event, if not the biggest event for both you and your partner. And when it’s over, the rentals will be returned, the cake will be eaten and everyone goes home. You threw a helluva party. 20 ICONIC MOMENTS FROM MAGGIE AND PRESTONS’ WEDDING in no particular order The lack of snow over the holidays had me reminiscing about the magic of Maggie and Preston’s wedding. Snow and rain came and went, but no one felt the cold (at least Maggie didn’t seem to). There was enough scotch in our bellies and warmth in our hearts to not give a shit about the weather. And it looked really damn whimsical!!! Maggie is an incredible human, and the partner she chose has the heart to match. The first wedding I ever filmed in Idaho was alongside Maggie, so it was an incredible honor to capture and witness her do the thang. Every person who came together to create this day was thoughtful, talented, and deeply reflective of who Maggie and Preston are. This was the most perfect wedding to end my season. My final wedding of 2025 at Bodhi Farms went out with a bang. This bride dreamed up an enchanted-forest-meets-steampunk celebration…and then handed me the keys and said, “Go for it.” Dangerous? Absolutely. Worth it? Every second. Designing this space was pure joy textures on textures, layered linens, mixed tables and chairs, and all the moody magic I could get my hands on. Russell at Gallatin Event Rental brought my wild vision to life with wood, metal, and Edison-bulb chandeliers floating above the dinner tables like something out of a storybook. And Amanda Jewel? She built an entire woodland fantasy from mushrooms, moss, wood, and stone. The entrance alone could’ve stopped traffic. Everyone’s talking about color trends, floral trends, tablescape trends. But can we talk about what the real 2026 wedding trend is going to be? I’m going to call it right here… Vow Renewals. Mark my words. And it won’t be because these couples need to “re-commit” themselves to each other. It’s because our generation grew up believing weddings had to be this whole circus of extended family and societal norms. There wasn’t a script for going off script. But now there is. FINALLY… the wedding industry, as well as couples, are realizing that weddings can look and feel however you want them to. And they don’t have to include your estranged aunts or uncles. Happy anniversary to THHHEEE Carrie and Michael. These two had one hell of a 10 year vow renewal a while back at @pushandpour in Garden City, organized and executed by THE incredible Alex with @perfectthirdsandco (I must say, she recruited a baller roster of vendors). 10+ years is just wow. I’ve seen a lot of weddings, but this was the first (I hope of many) vow renewal I’ve witnessed. Chills. So fucking rad. Reflection and being real about the really really shitty stuff and the really really balls to the walls incredible stuff. Looking at the present, at everything that’s been built. The “through sickness and in health” thing really lived and grinded out. Same with the “through the Eagles losing the Super Bowl and the Eagles winning the Super Bowl” fine print.
