Happy new year!
Since the new year has begun, it feels like the perfect time to re-introduce myselfâŚ
Hi, Iâm Fumi.
I moved from Japan to NYC in 2000. Completely on my own, dreaming of becoming a makeup artist. I didnât know anyone in the U.S, spoke almost no English (I thought I did⌠I was wrong đ ), and had zero real makeup experience. My family thought I was crazy!
I chose NYC because people come from everywhere, and I wanted to work with every skin tone.
I spent almost 16 unforgettable years there. Some amazing, some incredibly challenging. My background is editorial studio work, and I also worked as an eyebrow specialist & makeup artist in high-end salons in SoHo & TriBeCa.
NYC is also where I met my husband.
We got married in 2013 and moved to Bozeman at the end of 2015 for our son, who was just 10 months old at the time. I never imagined how I enjoy living in this beautiful stateâŚ
We now have two precious devils!
Almost 11year old boy who loves basketball and 8year old girl who is an amazing swimmer.
Iâm currently focusing on weddings in my third hometown, and I couldnât be happier. The teams I work with are incredibly talented and passionate, which makes every wedding feel so personal and special. Iâm truly honored to be part of these big days!
During the off-season, Iâm officially a basketball mom, traveling every few weeks to cheer on our boy and his team!
Fun fact⌠something not many people knowâŚ
I used to be a baton twirler đ
I did it for six years in Japan (junior high through high school), practicing every single day. My team won the national championship in my graduation year and placed 3rd at the world championship. We even performed in Malaysia and Australia!
Watching my son play basketball feels like Iâm living my second youth. His tears of happiness and frustration bring back so many memories, and Iâm grateful heâs found his sport and continues to grow every day.
I found these photos last year at my parentsâ⌠so here they are đ
If youâve read this far⌠thank you đ
Iâm already so excited to meet and work with my 2026 brides. I canât wait to be part of your big day and help you feel like the best version of yourself â¨â¨â¨
The wedding season might be over, but fall/winter family photos, engagements, maternity sessions, newborns, headshots, special events, birthdays⌠you name it, Iâm here for you đ¤
I mean⌠how cute is the family of my past bride @rachael.solberg ? đĽšđĽ°
