It hurts to make a fist still but I can paint again, so I did!
It’s been 8 weeks since I finished hand therapy (shout out to Ramana and Kaitlyn at NYU Langone). My fingers bend differently now. I get re-learn how to write, draw and paint again like a lucky alien with a new body.

Magnetic MetroCards are going away after December 31st, 2025 you probably know!
When I painted this in 2019 after a trip to Miami, it was just a part of everyday still life. Time eventually turns any creation into nostalgic fine wine with new meanings.
Another cool memory was every time I saw my therapist in-person @nypcc (2021-2024), I would be given a physical MetroCard to reimburse the commute. They became physical mementos, symbols of self care.

I hosted an expressive art workshop “Monday Art Night” this week making analog art and playing games at an old school gymnasium with a dozen creative participants!
As a 90s kid with no electronics on me, I got to get lost in my imagination and play games with friends ALL the time. I see it as a necessary comeback in the digital age that we are in now.
“Olive has a special way of reintroducing us to the child within ourselves” —@platinumtwink Sweetest thing ever said about experiences I created. Monday Art Night was a success!

I love painting them…
A few months ago, I passed by this black cat in Bushwick sitting comfortably in the middle of the street watching people walk by. It inspired me to start a series of watercolor cats! There is something cool and mysterious about friendly black cats. Their energy is best captured by the most fluid and dreamy art medium: watercolor.
