Made this silicone mask for a short film directed by @condiment_keith a while back. He wanted it to look like the actor’s skin was sagging/melting off (concept drawings included here). It was the last setup of the day which meant very tight application time, shot in low light, and shot in mostly wides. Solutions were: making a full-face mask that fit the actor’s face (rather than encapsulated pieces that would have to be glued individually) which saved time, and sculpting/painting the textures to be extra punchy so it’d show up in the lighting conditions. Sculpted, molded, painted, last minute eyebrow-punched, and applied by me. 💃🏻
This was from back in October. Made a honeycomb dress for halloween. Turned out a little messier than intended but did the job. Front and back laced up the sides with ribbon by punching grommets into the silicone, which had mesh hidden in it to prevent tearing. That way I could adjust the tautness in specific areas rather than fixed hook & eyes. Honeycomb texture also made from silicone using a mold I found. The little bees I also hand-made and painted using friendly plastic. And then I made my girlfriend put ears on and be a bear. 🐻 🍯
Pretty cool to have work shown on a physical record! I made these stone masks for @daisythegreatband which they took home and painted for the cover of their most recent album, The Rubber Teeth Talk.
For NYC Pride last month, @turtlewithhat_ had a meet & greet where they wanted to subtly change their appearance and see if their fans would notice. So I made them custom nose prosthetics - an elf-ish upturned nose for @d0gluver and a bigger nose bridge for @emmawhatevs (who are the best btw). Ultimately most didn’t notice or were too confused to say anything which is even funnier to me. Thank you to my hot girlfriend @violet.louise for helping me apply these
Concessions @concessionsmovie directed by @masbouzidi is going to Scotland for @edfilmfest ! This was my first feature film as a department head for makeup in 2023. Back when Mas made the proof of concept short for this movie, I was the one who helped cast @rob_riordan and @boogi.jp who are now starring in the feature - Rob I found online, and Jonathan I met randomly on the street & eventually gave his number to Mas. This is a special one, and a full circle moment for sure. 🕺

10 ultracal positives in total. Inlayed with burlap so that broken pieces could still be picked up together. And very lightly airbrushed with gray paint to add contrast so they wouldn’t get washed out under bright lights. 🎭🎭🎭
