Some songs don’t just stay with us — they speak to us. With her 17th Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song, Diane Warren continues a legacy of writing music that reminds people everywhere that they are stronger than they know. At Old Mill Road Recording, we believe music can be a force for inspiration, transformation, and truth — and “Dear Me,” performed by Kesha for the documentary Diane Warren: Relentless, certainly demonstrates that.   Congratulations to Diane Warren on this well-deserved Oscar nomination. Songs like this remind us why we make music. #music #Songwriting #oscars #academyawards #dianewarren #kesha

Berkshire Magazine’s weekly eblast of the editor’s picks of things to do comes out every Thursday, which means we are gearing up to send the next one out this evening. To sign up, go to our profile. It’s free. You’ll discover events such as the powerful modern jazz ensemble Artemis performing at the Clark this Saturday. “In Real Time” the band’s second release on Blue Note Records, has been garnering universal acclaim. NPR wrote that “it further establishes their prowess both as individuals and as a collective…a supergroup.” Artemis has performed across the globe at such major venues as Carnegie Hall, the Newport Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Chicago Symphony Hall—and now the Clark. This program is in collaboration with Jazz in the Berkshires, which is also presenting Williamstown Jazz Festival from September 11 to 13. A link for more on all that also is on our profile. But first! Saturday night. Artemis at the Clark. It’s a concert you don’t want to miss. (The price also is right for tickets, $10, $8 members, $7 college students, $5 children 17 and under.) And remember: Stay in the loop by subscribing to Berkshire Magazine’s eblast of things to do for the week ahead. Go to berkshiremag.com or the link in our profile.

Meeting Benjamin Lerner – It’s not every day that life presents you with the opportunity to change lives through music. But that’s exactly what happened the day Benjamin Lerner walked into our lives. Through his music, his weekly CLEAN column, his social media reels, his live performances, and his weekly radio show CLEAN Jams on WEQX, our work with Benjamin has become an integral part of our mission. From the stages of Carnegie Hall (with the Indie Collaborative) and the Aspen Institute to his recent “Lost Voices of Fentanyl” rally, Benjamin has become a face and voice for those struggling with Substance Use Disorder, Addiction, and Recovery. Thank you, Benjamin, for the journey. @weqx_1027 @benjamin.lerner @aspeninstitute @indiecollaborative #BenjaminLerner #WEQX #IndiCollaborative #AspenInstitute

Building the Dream – Creating Old Mill Road Recording was a true passion project – and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible contractors who helped us convert an 18th-century structure into a 21st-century state-of-the-art recording studio. Their beautiful work was highlighted in MIXmag's (@mixmag ) cover story in June 2019 and was also featured in Sweet Notes, Sweetwater’s (@sweetwatersound ) magazine. #music #recordingstudio #oldmillroadrecording #MIXmag #SweetWaters
