Her Revelation come to Oldham 🎹🎤
Her Revelation are an electronic trio creating intense, shape-shifting live sets built from improvisation, instinct and connection.
Formed by Kinna Whitehead, Peter Bell and Vato Klemera, their sound moves between delicate soundscapes and disruptive textures where everyday feelings stretch into something transcendent.
First colliding during a sleep-cycle installation in Birmingham, their early 2-hour lullaby/night-terror performance sparked a collaboration that’s since grown through late-night improvising, songwriting sessions (fuelled by air-fried halloumi), and unforgettable live shows.
Drawing inspiration from Ursula K. Le Guin, Louis Andriessen and FKA twigs, Her Revelation blur the line between the mundane and the extraordinary — weaving ‘comprovisations’ into songs that linger long after the last note.
With singles Actress and Dare already emerging, and a debut album coming in 2026, expect to hear some unreleased singles this is a live experience you won’t forget.

MANCHESTER JAZZ FESTIVAL COMES TO OLDHAM! 🎶🎷
@manchesterjazzfestival has programmed two genre-pushing events for our 2026 season, bringing jazz right into the heart of the Oldham community.
Take a look at what we’ve got lined up and get booking... 👀
🐍 Born in the snake pit of Leeds house parties, aggro-jazz four-piece Vipertime have earned a ferocious reputation making a series of incendiary appearances at venues and festivals across the UK, honing their craft while pushing their line up of saxophone, bass and twin drum sets to its sonic limits. Both live and in the studio, their music is a sweaty dance floor incarnate.
🌃Lullaby–Sonic Cradle is an immersive music performance for family audiences and adults alike. The show weaves improvised electronics with nighttime soundscapes collected from across the globe by sound artist, Duncan Chapman, soothing Carnatic vocals from Supriya Nagarajan and luscious improvised harp music from Lucy Nolan. They have collected over 300 lullabies internationally from libraries to office blocks and these are woven into the soundscape and used as a stimulus for improvisation.
🎤Birmingham-based trio, Her Revelation, combine electronic and vocal improvisation with thought-provoking lyrics, to create mesmerising, emotional music. They’re a part-improvised ritual exulting the everyday. Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s idea of the ‘Life Story’, they weave arranged songs exploring mundane feelings between improvised soundscapes built on reactivity to each other.

I’m a working-class kid from Oldham.
And somehow… I got handed a gift.
The chance to bring back to life the very theatre that lit something in me in the first place. ✨
That’s not lost on me. Not for a second.
Because this place… it’s not just bricks and a stage.
It’s every laugh, every tear, every kid who sat in the dark and thought maybe that could be me.
It’s all still there. You can feel it in your bones.
And now I get to hold that. Tell that story. Carry it forward.
I won’t lie—there have been moments where it’s felt like I’ve been pushing a boulder up a hill on my own.
Proper graft. Quiet. Unseen.
The kind that makes you question everything.
But today… people got it.
And for the first time—I actually enjoyed it.
The nerves, the fear of fucking it up… didn’t get in the way.
I was just in it. Fully. And it felt right.
Not politely. Not intellectually.
They felt it. They were with us. They ate it up.
And that’s the shift. That’s the moment you wait for.
But let me be clear—this isn’t mine.
It never will be.
I’m just looking after it for a bit.
Holding it steady. Protecting it.
So the castle 🏰 can become what it’s meant to be—
a lighthouse.
For the kids coming through.
For the town.
For the next generation of working-class dreamers who just need to see what’s possible.
Oldham… this is us.
And we’re only just getting started. 🙌
Sun is shining, May is coming, and we’ve got a line-up of ways to spend your evenings!
🍟We’ve got our last culture and chips of the season, a brilliant way to get to know other artists in the area.
🏃Running Commentary by P Burton Morgan, to keep you heart pumping and legs moving chasing the poetic rollercoaster that is their life.

There’s a moment before things open…
where you can feel it in your body before it’s real anywhere else.
That’s where I am right now.
Next week I’m at the GM Creative Industries Exchange with Julie Hesmondhalgh — talking about rebuilding a theatre, yes…
but really talking about rebuilding belief. In a place. In people. In what culture can do when it’s rooted properly.
And if I’m honest… I’m buzzing and bricking it in equal measure.
Watch out for all my nerves coming out of my hands.
Because this bit matters to me. Deeply.
Not the stage. Not the spotlight.
But what sits underneath it all — the why.
Oldham isn’t a side note. It’s the main story.
And I’ve got the privilege of helping write the next chapter.
Let’s blow the bloody doors off.
If you’re there, come find me.
If you’re not… keep watching. You’ll feel it soon enough.
✨
