Here's some photos from the Migration Is Not A Crime mural, this was one of my favorite pieces I've ever done. Painting on the ground while the skatepark was open was a pain but I'm stoked with how it turned out. I was feeling pretty burnt out so I never did get around to posting it this summer so here it is, the finished mural I painted for @pharmhousewellness . Huge thank you to Casey for letting me have full creative freedom on this one, you’re a rare client and this project is one of my all time favorites because of it. Also a big thank you to the amazing staff for putting up with me being in the way of their day to day operations. Here’s a mural I finished a few weeks ago at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport. It was a fun project but a ton of work. When social distancing started to become a thing, I switched my work schedule to going in after the last departure in order to avoid people and ended up working super late. Being completely alone in the airport was a surreal experience to say the least but I was honestly way more productive than during the day. I'm out of storage on my phone so it's forcing me to edit all this footage I've taken over the years and have never done anything with. Finished mural for GR Cannabis Co from summer 2024. Painting around this corner on such a tall way was suuuper tricky but it worked out in the end. Trying to keep the same angle for the bridges so they look accurate was a fun challenge. Like birds, humans are migratory creatures. Our migrations may not always feel as literal as the migration patterns of a bird, moving north in the spring to nest and flourish and south in the winter to guarantee food and sun; but they are equally necessary. Sometimes we migrate like birds, following the warm weather and twelve hour days. Other times we migrate within, shifting to people or places or thoughts within our own habitats that help us feel most at home. And like birds, sometimes we are forced to flee. Our homes can become unsafe and refuge must be sought elsewhere. We all deserve a safe place so when you see another in distress, migrating for the sake of safety or community or refuge, welcome them home. We are all from the same flock and we all deserve a safe place to fly. I painted this mural back in the fall of 2020 and never actually posted it. Due to weather and a busy skatepark, it's no longer there, but it had a good run.
