Aus den tollen Einsendungen unseres Call for Creatives haben wir fünf Künstler*innen ausgewählt, deren Arbeiten nun in der Gruppenausstellung Gathering Otherwise – Diasporische Verbindungen zu sehen sein werden:

🤎 Wir freuen uns auf eine Ausstellung, die diasporische Perspektiven zusammenbringt und einen Raum eröffnet, um über eigene Verortungen, Zugehörigkeiten und Brüche nachzudenken.

Titled: I WAS HERE BEFORE
This painting emotes that numbness every immigrant is familiar with. The strange feelings of guilt and unbelonging when i visited home in Ibadan. Ironically, it is eerily similar to the constant existential dread I've always felt in Germany as a legal Afrikan immigrant.
We exist like pieces of a puzzle with no crevices to fit, ever walking on eggshells, hoping to ever be real and enough.
I made this painting instead of seeing a therapist for my anxiety. It was very personal and I have a feeling it is to you too.
God is here.
