Photos from my trip to Iran (July 2018). Had to dig these up on my old computer to give myself a sense of peace. I’ve never experienced such consistent fear and anxiety as I have this week thinking about my family in Iran. My birthday is Friday and I feel weird celebrating as my relatives experience a type of fear I can’t even imagine. It’s impossible not to feel kind of helpless living on this side of the world. But I’m finding a lot of comfort in these photos, watching my favorite Iranian films, and visiting my favorite Persian restaurants in LA when I can. عکس‌هایی از سفرم به ایران در تیرماه ۲۰۱۸. این‌ها رو از توی کامپیوتر قدیمیم پیدا کردم تا کمی آرامش پیدا کنم. توی این هفته هیچ‌وقت این‌قدر ترس و اضطراب مداوم رو تجربه نکرده بودم؛ مدام به خانواده‌ام در ایران فکر می‌کنم. تولدم جمعه‌ست ولی حس عجیبی دارم از اینکه جشن بگیرم، وقتی اقوامم با ترسی زندگی می‌کنن که حتی نمی‌تونم تصورش رو بکنم. زندگی کردن در این سمت دنیا گاهی واقعاً احساس ناتوانی می‌ده. ولی دارم توی دیدن این عکس‌ها، تماشای فیلم‌های ایرانی مورد علاقه‌م، و رفتن به رستوران‌های ایرانی محبوبم در لس‌آنجلس یه جور دلگرمی پیدا می‌کنم.
