Obviously a bittersweet time but I loved visiting Colombia. I love LA, it's my home and I want to make my life here, no doubts about that, but Colombia will always be where I'm from. From the moment I landed, the smells, the music, the language, the food, the culture, all enveloped me in a blanket of familiarity and comfort. Something inside me that I hadn't even known was tensed relaxed and I breathed just a bit easier. My time there made me rethink my connection to the country and how much of myself, my time, and my resources I want to commit to it.
Anyways these are short vignettes from my time there. Wish I could have gotten more of these, but my mind was elsewhere.
1: My uncle, cousin, friends and family playing tejo, a national game sorta like cornhole, except instead of a hole its a gunpowder envelope and instead of a bag its a stone disc.
2: My brother on the grill, cooking for everyone.
3: The street in Ibague that I lived in up until 6. Many thought every time I visit this neighborhood.
4: A family reunion on my mother's side.
5: neighborhood kids playing outside well into a Saturday night.

Not that anyone cares, but these were shot on digital, and are the first digital pictures that go on the main feed ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ end of an era. I'll always love and shoot on film but no reason to limit myself.
crew
always hard to get good pictures of crew since its always so busy and they aren't always as keen to get a picture taken as cast members are but on this set everyone was a good sport
Cast pics
shoutout to @yayzzie who spent the whole shoot either running in heels or freezing or running into walls or being flashed for a picture by me every 10 minutes, real trooper.
Everything shot on Cinestill 800T, at this point the only stock I'd use on set. Maybe Portra 800 but I feel like Kodak's motion picture stock just handles the difficult situations with a bit more resilience and adaptability while still managing a real depth and richness in terms of contrast and color. The relative tradeoff (it was a good thing here) is the tungsten balance and the increased halation.
Also check out @mayamariyadondonyan , amazing photographer!
A few still lifes from a music video shoot a couple weeks ago. I'll post more BTS from it soon.
