Thank you so much
@admexico . 🤎
To be acknowledged on a global stage, words can’t express how grateful we are. As interior designers, we understand the power of space, how it holds people, stories, and identity. And in our culture, we’ve always been designing space. It lives in how we gather, how we build, how we see the world. The way we’ve designed space for our industry, our culture has always had influence.
That perspective is powerful. It’s impactful. It’s always been there.
So to be acknowledged in this way, to have space made for us and our community, means everything.
Especially in a moment when our community and our history is being erased in the United States. We matter, our voices matter. This is for our community—always.
OF THREADS is an art and design curatorial collective founded by Alma Lopez and Sergio Mondragón that spotlights Mexican-American designers and artists across the United States.
Through exhibitions and cultural programming, the collective explores intergenerational connection and the layered experience of living between Mexican heritage and American
identity.
Rooted in storytelling, OF THREADS examines how histories of migration, resilience, and family are woven across time — adapted, preserved, and reinterpreted like threads in a larger fabric.
Our work seeks to honor the full complexity of Mexican-American identity while positioning these contributions firmly within the contemporary art and design canon.
