metal snake bracelet is inspired by the metal snake Chinese zodiac🐍⛓️
while most people know about the 12 zodiac animals, what often isn’t known is how each zodiac is also associated with one of the five elements each year (earth, water, air, fire, or wood). 2001 was our most recent Year of the Metal Snake, and 2024 is the Year of the Wood Dragon.
according to the Chinese zodiac, the metal snake is ambitious, determined, and enigmatic.
a pattern of 9 rings connected with 1 ring. 9 rings x 1 ring x 9 rings x 1 ring ….
to me, the number 1 symbolizes trust and intuition, while 9 symbolizes transformation. together, 1 and 9 create something whole and new (aka 10).

The High 5 Elements Necklace, inspired by @edgeonthesquare ‘s High Five Contemporary Art Festival in SF Chinatown. each bead symbolizes either water, earth, air, fire, or wood, just like how five streets in Chinatown were reimagined to celebrate each of the elements at the festival. the chain linking the beads in this necklace was hand woven and meant to represent the element of metal.
