Here at Old friends we offer a Forever Foster program instead of traditional adoption. The goal is the same ā to give our dogs loving, lifelong homes. In this program, a dog lives with a family or individual, called Geezer Guardians, for the rest of its life. Bob would like to thank the team at @ollie for his care package of books and a brand new comfy blanket!
Bob has his own room in our Barkley Suites area here at Old Friends. He struggled in our communal living areas due to his anxious nature and need for a calm and quiet space. Keeping him active in small playgroups and making rounds on the campus to say hello to staff have been key in keeping his mental and emotional well being up since moving back here. All of this was fine until recently he began struggling with his mobility due to progressing arthritis, and suddenly these outings grew more and more difficult for our Bobby. We started brainstorming ways to bring the people to him to make things easier and maintain his relationships with his beloved staff and volunteers. And thus Bobbyās Book Box was born. Now, when passing through, you can almost always find Bob either curled up in bed or lounging in his yard with someone reading to him and soaking up love and attention. Thank you, @ollie team, for helping us help our Bob š«¶š¼
