Shavorã “Roots & Wings” Live Music and Conversation with Nãwãema, Eriya & Hukena Ofrenda Fest / QCA, 5-11 47th Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101, USA 6:30pm $55-88 Pre sale Força Feminina is a rare and powerful concert led by three Yawanawá women — who carry the sacred songs and stories of their people. Join the Daughters of the Amazon for a concert and conversation on how power and projection operate within spiritual spaces. These women are guardians of tradition and pioneers of a new time. Through their music, they share the force of the feminine in its many expressions: strength and tenderness, courage and beauty, tradition and transformation.   As more stories of harm and misconduct come to light, there is a growing need for honest, grounded dialogue. This space invites reflection on leadership, consent, and boundaries, while also looking at the subtle dynamics — projection, authority, and unchecked influence — that can distort trust and allow abuse to take place.
Rather than offering conclusions, this is an open conversation: a space to question, to listen, and to deepen our understanding of what responsibility and integrity truly require within spiritual communities. Once again, Ofrenda Fest and Earth Medicine Alliance unite to create a space of cultural exchange. This gathering continues a shared commitment: to support Indigenous leadership, celebrate the strength of women, and bring forward the voices of those who carry wisdom for the times we are living.those who carry wisdom for the times we are living. What an honor to act as Uke(practice attacker) for the great Kumu @ramsaytaum in the live demo portion of his presentation The Way of the Warrior Priest last night at @ofrendafest 🌺 I’ve had the privilege to connect with Kumu over the last 3 years at @libfestival in my role as Wisdom Keeper lead, where he’s been one of the esteemed elders to share wisdom at the festival. It’s such a full circle moment, as growing up I trained in the Hawaiian martial arts of Kempo & KaJuKenBo, earning my 2nd degree black belt & working 3 years as a senior instructor. 🥋Thank you @ninaktsz & @triballinkfoundation for inviting Kumu & @americafilm for the space & making it happen so quickly. Kumu Ramsay has several online offerings & retreats coming up, which I highly recommend & he may just be back in NYC sooner than we think. Follow for more… 👊🙏📿
