This has been a labour of love, bringing together months of creative vision, symbolism, and artistic direction.
When I first envisioned the collection, I was struck by the image of a Garbo — an earthen clay pot with holes, symbolic of the womb and divine feminine energy. The light streaming through the Garbo as the model spins was meant to evoke the idea of Shakti’s power being released into the world — an explosion of creativity, strength, and transformation. I knew this was the image I needed to bring the collection to life.
In order to capture this vision,I created a mesh by laser-cutting plywood, so myself and
@ofilaye could experiment with how light interacts with the jewellery and the model’s movements. This allowed us to create a play of light and shadow, as the illumination from the Garbo radiates across the jewellery, echoing the divine feminine energy at the heart of the collection. Every detail was carefully considered — from the light’s angle to the
@anu.shankar graceful spins — to communicate the powerful essence of Shakti.
Bringing this vision to life was as much a process of artistic direction as it was storytelling. I wanted to create more than just a jewellery shoot — I wanted to tell the story of Shakti’s energy, of creation, destruction, and transformation, all captured in a single moment.
