This was a super fun one to create and record. At its core, it’s the same old Wally, but as I explored a little deeper within this crazy and bottomless realm of sound, I became inspired by new sounds, instruments and cultures. Jake Harris (Offthewally) @offthewally is a solo musician hailing out of Manly Beach, Sydney. He writes, records and produces everything from his attic studio at home. His love and lust for music is heavily inspired by the very nature that surrounds him. Whether it’s the beach or the bush, he’ll always find a rhythm worth exploring.
1.) How does a musical seed start for you, and does the ocean inspire them?
The ocean is definitely one of the main realms for my Inspiration! Whether it’s calm and mellow conditions or punchy and fast, my music tends to match that I’ve found! Little seeds of inspiration are always being planted on me. Sometimes they lay dormant for a while but always seem to pop up when they’re ready to grow into something more!
2.) What’s the current line up of instruments/equipment for your album “Bouquet”?
Instruments of choice for “Bouquet” were my Fender Tele, Gretsch, Jazz bass, congas, bongos and enough percussion instruments to open up a small shop!
3.) Favorite collaborations, and what’s next?
I actually haven’t done any collaborations just yet but there may be a few coming this year or next! I have a bunch of singles ready to roll. I’m just doing a little post production on them and will hopefully have 3 or 4 released before the end of the year.

New Album!
Bouquet is kind of an accidental cross-pollination of my first two albums. It started off as a scattered handful of musical seeds which slowly grew, tangled together, and somehow bloomed into this sonic bouquet. No fancy pruning, just letting the music do its thing - wild, unpredictable, and hopefully ended up smelling pretty good.

I started to write this song as soon as I found out Jess was pregnant with our first baby girl! What started off as just basic sounds and textures for her to listen to from the outside in, slowly began to take form into a song.
The finished song is an interpretation of what the journey may have been like for her, growing and becoming on the inside and then eventually out into the world.
I hope that when you listen, it takes you on your own journey of emotions!
