Fifth (and potentially final??) episode of Off the Record Sápmi is out! In this episode of Off the Record Sápmi, I sit down with my friend Sunna Nousuniemi to talk about their documentary Boso mu ruovttoluotta/Breathe Me Back to Life. We get into the emotional process of turning personal trauma into art, and how healing and cultural reclamation can support each other. Sunna shares openly about living with PTSD, navigating tight-knit Sámi communities, and the role of tradition in their journey. Join us in our discussion about storytelling, identity and finding strength through community. We will also find out how the podcast name came to be! This episode was recorded in 2022, and the episode does include a note from Sunna, reflecting on life after the documentary.
