Hello! We are Jeff & Tarah, owners & operators of Off the Grid pizza!
We moved from Arizona to Boise almost 2 years ago, but weâve been visiting the area for over 10 years. We always knew this was where we wanted to raise our family. But we never really envisioned weâd be running a pizza trailer. Jeff got this crazy idea one day that we should start a food truck. So with lots of research, one week in San Francisco at pizza school, many hours with the trailer builders and lots of taste testing, here we are almost a year into the Food Truck business.
Our goal was to have a job that would allow us to do what we love, spending time with our family and getting âOff the Gridâ as much as possible & also eating pizza, lots of pizza!
We hope to inspire others to Get outside & Off the Grid as well. Hi! đđź I wanted to take a minute and re introduce ourselves. We have some new followers and I donât do a whole lotta posting these days.. We are Jeff & Tarah. Both born and raised in CA. Jeff southern, me northern. We met in San Diego in 2009 and did the long distance thing for 1 1/2 years before I moved to AZ (where Jeff was running a business at the time). Shortly after.. we got engaged, had 2 baby girls 13 months apart, and decided it was time for a change. Sold the business, moved to Boise with no jobs, no house (thankful for my parents who took us in) and set out on our foodtruck adventure! Jeff attended pizza school in San Fransisco with the pizza god himself @capopizza and learned the art of pizza making! 2018 we started Off the Grid Pizza! đ With very little clue what we were doing, we hit the streets and started slinging pies. Because we werenât busy enough with 2 kids and a new business, we decided to start another business in 2021 @sunsetsoftserve đŚ I had always known I wanted at least 3 kids, Jeff took a little more convincing⌠9 years of it to be exact. We added our 3rd girl to the fam and slowed down a little bit, I got a whole 6 days of maternity leave (foodtruck life ha) It did force us to get some help that was much needed. Thank you Carrie, Christy & Dave, and of course everyone else that has been there for us along the way!! This lifestyle isnât always easy and definitely isnât for everyone. But we have had sooo many more good times than bad over the years and we are so very grateful for the Boise community!! Thanks for letting me share! I donât know about you guys, but sometimes when we receive compliments, we arenât sure how to respond⌠and I donât share these messages on here often, but maybe Iâm feeling a little emotional these days & this gave me the extra push I needed for today. Our # 1 in our business isnât necessarily to be the best pizza in the treasure valley, but itâs connecting with our customers and giving the best service we know how. Do you think customer service is something that can be learned? Lately when we go places, I feel customer service has been lacking BIG time. You get the blank stares or no acknowledgment at all when you walk in. There are the few standouts that Iâm sure you would all agree on, and we hope thatâs how you feel when you come to our trailer.
