post-disciplinary creative culture
Offsite is an Eindhoven-based design label working with waste from factories, construction sites and production environments. In collaboration with designers and manufacturers, they turn discarded materials into furniture and objects. Each design begins inside the constraints of a specific material. Its dimensions, composition and quantity shape the outcome, producing results that are functional and often unexpected.
other circle is a post-disciplinary platform rooted in creative culture. Our mission is to capture moments and energies across disciplines.

Last month during @dutchdesignweek , we showed you the first version of the XYZ crate chair made in collaboration with @structural_aspect , using reclaimed multiplex once used to ship battery packs.
As the printing on the multiplex says: this isn’t just any plywood. It’s high-quality, fire-resistant, and built to protect. Perfect for big projects.
We’re still, behind the scenes, refining every detail to make this chair production-ready. But the vision is clear, and we’re on our way.
Big thanks to @structural_aspect for seeing possibilities everywhere, and of course to @volta_energy for opening up their waste stream to us.
We are doing this together!
What happens when we start listening to waste? @joriswintgens at @offsite______ visits factories to see what piles up, what’s discarded, and asks: what could this become? The result is aluminium off cuts becoming new objects like the pendant lamp, designed by @zowa___ for Offsite. For anyone curious about material led design and the unexpected potential of industrial leftovers, check out the full story by Joris by following the link in bio.
Products to sit on, to turn on or to place a flower in.
This is some of what we made this year.
Chair, lamp, chair, vase, bench.
Each piece with its own story, each shaped by what was already there.
Thank you @humainprojects for the trust and the connection. This was one of those collaborations that came effortless.
Together with architect @rikfransjansen , we designed and built the displays for @humainprojects during @dutchdesignweek
All parts sourced locally from local junkyards, leftovers and industrial waste.
Really happy with how it all came together!
