Day 2 with the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance and the energy keeps building.
We met Nick Kor, board chair of NQAPIA, who shared the excitement of longtime members and the spark of newcomers finding this space for the first time.
We also connected with Dacity, who spoke about finally finding a queer Asian community and the importance of building connections with other queer Asians and BI sisters.
And we kept coming back to one thing: drag as activism. On the West Coast, drag has long been a tool for resistance, visibility, and power.

Since debuting in 2023, Dacity received two California College Media Awards, released original music, launched the queer podcast @DyzzBytch , and founded @TransdotForm With a background in journalism and political education, their work centers uplifting unheard queer voices and exploring identity through performance and media.
