We hosted a great event last night featuring Kristen Joy Emack, Scott & Grace Offen, and Cheryle St. Onge, with Arlette Kayafas (@gallerykayafas ) moderating. Each of these artists has had their first book published by @lartiere and each centers around women & girls. This was our first event featuring multiple artists, and it certainly elevated the conversation! Thank you to all involved and all who attended 🖤
There will be signed copies of each book available in-store and on our website shortly!

Grace is the story of an artistic collaboration as well as a testimony to a 40 year long relationship. Discover Grace through the lens of her husband, Scott Offen.
It is a peaceful, contemplative and sometimes quirky selection of strong black and white photographs. Enjoy. 🫶

This week, we shall take a look at the loved ones right next to us. 💫
So did photographer Scott Offen, who convinced his wife of forty years, Grace, to embark on a creative journey together.
Laura McPhee writes:
The haunting, expressive photographs in this publication can be perceived as evocations of a long and fruitful collaboration between two people whose lives have intertwined across many decades. Scott and Grace are parents, they share a profound commitment to their spiritual pursuits, they are each other’s best friends.
But above and beyond persevering together through the vicissitudes of life, they have, later in their relationship, found a way of making photographs that transcend the tradition of active man with camera and passive wife as sitter. Grace and Scott explore imagination, sense of play, and the possible meanings of the natural world.
In the work, they fashion an escape from the bonds of this dimension with its cultural norms and strictures on our behaviors, especially those of women.

Grace. @offen1645 - I’m always looking for books that feel “lived in,” and this is exactly that. It’s a gentle but powerful exploration of the human spirit. After connecting with Scott online, I’ve gained so much respect for his process. The fact that he collaborates so closely with his wife on his creative endeavors is a total dream—partnering with your person to create something permanent is such a beautiful goal. this is a quiet and reflective book. A welcome change from all the chaos we’ve all been seeing lately in the news. #photobookfinds #ScottOffen #Grace #Lartiere #photobookcommunity largeformat creativecollaboration
