Venado is our hardest competition in Texas. Many consider it a huge accomplishment in clearing all the stages and crossing the finish line. This year will be no different. We were honored to have MOH recipient @dakotameyer0317 compete with us at our Y.O. Championships this weekend. Dakota ran the course three times covering over 24 miles throughout the weekend. Placing 1st in Sniper and Rivals and 3rd in our SERIES class.

“SCORING” While we pride ourselves on having some of the best venues and challenging courses in the run & gun space, it is no secret that we have experienced some issues with scoring in the past. We want to take a moment to address how we are handling scoring for our remaining events this year. We have been working on a proprietary scoring system, but we encountered major software issues with the original build. We have since switched to a U.S.-based company to rebuild the system; however, it will not be in effect for the rest of 2026. For our remaining events, we will be working closely with Dan Kaufman of Waco Tactical Fitness @wacotacticalfitness to help validate and check scores as they come in. Our goal is to ensure scores are accurate as quickly as possible rather than putting the burden on the competitor to flag issues after the fact. While manual entry issues or human error can occur at any event, we are striving for the highest possible accuracy. Simultaneously, we are testing Breakpoint for the remainder of the year with the hopes of implementing it in 2027. Waco Tactical Fitness is known for fun, realistic shooting stages and historically accurate scoring. We encourage you to check them out at @wacotacticalfitness . Their final event of the year will be held at Sellmark Ranch in Teague, TX, this October, with tickets going on sale June 30. We have six events left this year. Venado Springs is up next!! This will be one of the most challenging courses of the year featuring some of the toughest elevation changes in Texas Hill country. If your new to the sport really want to test yourself sign up for “series” on Saturday. We will have some PRS action for sniper teams with shots out to 1000 yds and a shorter “Rivals” course for those that are new to the sport or not masochist.
