'Outlandish' by Owen de Forge Garter Lane Gallery, Tue 24 Feb - Sat 23 May Open Tues-Sat 11-5:30pm, free entry As part of the body of work for 'Outlandish', Owen de Forge created numerous new sculptural pieces at Fire Station Artists' Studios under the mentorship of Cecillia Bullo. With the support of Fire Station Artists' Studios, Owen was able to make use of the impressive sculpture production equipment. FSAS facilities include a large-scale sculpure workspace subdivided into seven separate work-bays with rolling walls and another seven separate engine room work-bays. See firestation.ie/sculpture/ Multidisciplinary artist, Cecilia Bullo, is classically trained and engages in an expanded sculptural practice where materiality is both symbolic and sensorially charged. Follow Cecilia on instagram @ceciliabullo Owen creates dreamlike narratives exploring humanityโ€™s complex relationship with nature and the built environment. This helps to create works that meditate on themes of community, perception, ecology, and the subconscious. I had an amazing week in @firestationartistsstudios making work for my upcoming solo show @garterlane Many thanks to @crisneumannworks and @cahirmcnicholl for their lending their technical expertise to help me realise ideas that I've been dreaming of for ages. I'm thrilled to have been awarded the Evolve Practice award to develop new sculptural work. This feels like a crucial time in my practice and I hugely appreciate the support. I can't wait to get back in the workshop and keep building on these ideas Special thanks to @localboy3000 for the semi arduous lift there
