Join us this SistahFest @studiom.1672 for the opening of pop-up commercial exhibit “What We Carry”. SistahFest is a powerful night celebrating women in creativity, culture, and community 💜
As our cityscapes and seasons rapidly shift, we hold a deep sense of grief for what has been left behind and awe for the renewal still to come. The community knows this all too well. Little Jamaica feels it in its bones. It is within this duality we understand the weight of both what we gain and what we have lost. It’s springtime again. Transformation is palpable and multiple truths can exist at once. In this exhibit, we tend to the beauty within it all.

@findinnico@allirolle and @queenkukoyi are still sitting with how powerful the @verseandvisualexpressions showcase was ✨
To witness participants bring poetry and visual collage together in such a moving way… It was honestly incredible. Huge love to @articulately_jasmine and @shellymgrace for creating such a meaningful space for artists to grow and share.
We’re especially proud to see folks we adore, step into their brilliance on that stage. We are ever inspired by @oddsidearts collaborators like @eloyatheocean@sagal.duale and @jevonicarus who we got to watch transform the stage.
We are so grateful to be in community with all of you 💫

@apanakitemitayo and I popped into the @textilemuseumofcanada and honestly it was a whole vibe. Pattern on pattern on pattern and my brain was doing happy little dances the entire time. There is something about standing close to textiles and noticing all the tiny details, the colours, the textures, and the stories that sit quietly inside them. I kept finding little moments that made me pause and just appreciate the care and imagination behind the work.
It was also really nice sharing the experience with someone who enjoys getting curious about these things as much as I do. Good company, beautiful textiles, and lots of little sparks of inspiration along the way. 🧵✨
