In the span of 48 hours over the course of four weeks, I’ve completed my second oil painting and my first official self-portrait!!🥳
It’s funny that I’ve painted so many portraits over the years, yet have always felt intimidated by the idea of painting myself.
Interestingly enough, It’s almost like the more I painted, the more I questioned how I truly see myself. This process gave me the opportunity to honour my identity while embracing the complexities that came with every layer!
Fun fact: I painted this portrait twice because I didn’t feel like my first attempt did me justice. So, this is TECHNICALLY my second self portrait. 👩🏾🎨

A personal journey
Navigating self acceptance in a world conditioned to despise our every move, I created this artifact as a physical expression of mindfulness through the lens of a black woman.
The challenges I overcame in this process naturally mirrored the obstacles we face every waking moment. I hope that the next time you visit your reflection, you take a moment to thank yourself for how far you’ve come in your journey. Introducing Ella’s Precision!
Artistically known as @ellasprecision , Isabelle Loobie has been an artist since the day she
could pick up a pencil. Growing up surrounded by creative women, Isabelle found inspiration in
their ability to breathe life into their ideas. There was so much drive and intent within their process; she knew then what she was meant to do!
Driven by her desire to create and connect, Isabelle began her professional journey as a visual
artist in 2020. Fully embracing her identity as “Ella’s Precision,” she seeks to capture the
essence of true beauty, emphasizing the importance of identity and self-expression. Drawing
from her Trinidadian and Nigerian roots, Isabelle infuses her work with vibrant expressions of
her heritage and meticulous attention to detail. These distinct features allow her to capture, connect with, and enlighten her audience!
As a visionary, she plans on fine-tuning her skills to initiate and elevate creative spaces in the
city. Isabelle is passionate about her craft and hopes to exhibit this while touching hearts with each piece she creates!
