Birdies, you absolutely blew us away this past weekend! With over 3250 of you cruising through the fair, we were able to donate $1,700 to @osysedmonton to help support youth in our city with daily meals, basic supplies, and access to higher level supports. We’re so proud that our community is able to help out even a little bit, and your support really does go a long way. So from the bottom of our hearts, THANKS EDMONTON! Well, Edmonton, you’ve done it again…WHAT AN INCREDIBLE WEEKEND!!! 🐦🌷🐤 We were absolutely blown away by your support these past few days. Thank you SO MUCH for supporting local artists and showing up for this beautiful community - it means the world to see you lining up on opening night, streaming through the doors, and engaging with the weird and wonderful!! We appreciate your support more than we can express in words: from making an effort to shop local when there are easier options available, to fighting the evil AI overlords with imperfect, human-made art, it feels SO GOOD to know that there are like-minded folks around and that we always come through for each other. Based at 9912 81 Ave NW, the goal of OSYS is to provide purposeful resources and create a safe and supportive environment that fosters youth empowerment and development. They're dedicated to being a non-judgmental, flexible, street-level resource concerned with protecting the safety, self-worth and dignity of youth. They'll be stationed in both rooms, so make sure to go say hi, see what they're about, and check out all the incredible goods they'll have for sale! FRIDAY: SNAP @snapgallery is one of Edmonton's most unique and exciting visual arts organizations with a robust programming schedule, dedicated membership program, active printmaking studio, and the drive to be an important community resource. They are a creative hub and aim to connect people with art, ideas and with each other! Metro @themetrocinema is a community-based not-for-profit society devoted to creating and fostering opportunities for the exhibition of diverse, unique shared viewing experiences. SATURDAY: The Edmonton Arts Council Shop & Services @shopyegarts is your ticket to all things Edmonton arts! From tickets to local and community events, to coveted works from more than 200 emerging and established Edmonton artists, you can discover the unique experiences and artistry of our city! SNAP will be tabling for a second day in the small room. SUNDAY: The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts @ninahaggertyarts is a nonprofit organization that supports a collective of artists with developmental and other disabilities. Ociciwan @ociciwan supports the work of Indigenous contemporary artists and designers while engaging in contemporary critical dialogue. They value artistic collaboration and foster the awareness of Indigenous contemporary art practices, and we're excited to have them at the fair for the very first time!
