Counting down to Follies and Caprices, our upcoming solo exhibition with Theresa Ganz, opening June 7, 2–5pm. These installation images revisit Paper Empires from Erase the Strata (2024), offering a preview of the material investigations and world-building that carry into the new exhibition. . . #theresaganz #oddkineastprovidence #oddkingallery

That’s a wrap, 2025 💐 What a full and expansive year of firsts, collaborations, and deep community. We participated in our very first art fair at Arrival, presenting work by Lucy Kim and Polly Apfelbaum; opened Tory Fair’s zig-zagging Protest Flowers, followed by Hugo Brazão’s LoafHead - a joyful collaboration with Fabric Festival; kicked off our second Curator-in-Dialogue with the incredible Carmen Hermo, creating space for thoughtful exchange and collective learning; launched Field Notes, our community-led library rooted in shared research and curiosity; and closed out the year by piloting a curatorial residency with our friends at the Wedding Cake House. Immensely grateful for the artists, curators, collaborators, and community who made it all possible. Thank you for showing up — onward ✨ Special thanks to all that kept OK running and thinking and re/imagining this year: @michaelgunnart @wheat_from_chaff @jimdrain.info @jesse____james @goncalopreto @saladeditions @providenceact @crystallelacouture @toryfairsculpture @hugobrazao @pollyapfelbaum @slucykim @fr.moca and so many more! . . #oddkin2025 #oddkinprojectspace #oddkinprovidence #alternativeartspace

Throwback to the performance created in collaboration with the dearest @la_aguila for the opening of Loafhead at @odd_kin . One of the works in the exhibition was a bread sculpture embodying Loafhead — a fictional, half-bread half-human figure that became the starting point for the entire project. During the performance, a poem written as Loafhead’s inner monologue was read aloud, functioning as an opening ritual that invited viewers to kneel down and eat Loafhead. Loafhead was developed through critical fabulation as a way of reflecting on hesitation, escapism, and denial. Bread operates here as both material and metaphor, holding the tensions between sustenance and decay, generosity and scarcity. Through this figure, the exhibition considers how these forces shape contemporary crises, while opening space for renewal, solidarity, and shared survival. Thank you @fabricfestfr and @jesse____james for the invite, @rafeakspvd for the amazing pics, @portugalia_marketplace for letting me use your oven and @denizloveswhales for sharing his ancestral baking skills 💛

And that’s a wrap on our first Curatorial Residency! What an incredible week of exploring the field alongside eight thoughtful art workers who are deeply engaged with questions of community, exhibition-making, distribution, and care. A huge thank you to Wedding Cake House for hosting us with such generosity and intention. We can’t wait to debrief and process all that emerged. Missing from this photo: Kate Irvin and Abigail Satinsky; Pippi, Xander, Reg and Cole! . . #curatorialresidency #curatorialresearch #oddkinxweddingcakehouse #contemporaryart #providenceri

Hi, I’m Ramona and I’m a curator-in-residence at Wedding Cake House this week. This is a video I took of the traffic outside my 3rd-floor window here, as seen through the kaleidoscopic filter of a 1991 McDonalds Happy Meal toy camera that I bought down the street a few days ago 😃 I live in Providence but work at the MIT List Center in Cambridge, where we’re currently preparing an exhibition about artistic labor called Performing Conditions. Later today at our open house I’ll be presenting a performative reading of a transcript of a tape that Chauncey Hare, a photographer in the show, made in the late 1970s and sent to the director of Aperture. It’s been a great week with this wonderful group and I hope you can join 🖤

Field trip day for our Curatorial Residents! ✨ We began with resident Kate Irvin’s incredible exhibition of Liz Collins at the RISD Museum, then headed upstairs to explore the newly opened Barkan Family Ceramics Collection. From there we made our way to the Bell Gallery, where director Kate Kraczon welcomed us into the stunning Eric-Paul Riege exhibition curated by Thea Quiray Tagle. Next stop: Snake Den, the extraordinary shop by RISD professor and designer Joe Segal, which truly feels like stepping inside a psychedelic installation. We wrapped our art tour at our residency partner ODD-KIN to catch Lisbon-based artist Hugo Brazão’s exhibition—complete with a selection of zines from Dirt Palace. We ended the night gathered around a beautiful meal prepared by residents Danni Shen and Gee Wesley, followed by presentations from Harry Gould Harvey IV and Danni Shen. What a day! ✨ Join us tomorrow at the Wedding Cake House for an opportunity to meet our incredible Curatorial Residents! ✨

Day three of the residency ✨ As you can see, so much unfolds around this dining room table — beautiful meals collaboratively prepared, followed by evening talks where each resident shares their research, ideas, and current and past projects. Last night, Abigail Satinsky and Zach Ngin offered two distinct and generous approaches to thinking about labor and labor practices in contemporary art, from both practical and conceptual perspectives. Grateful for the depth and care they brought to the room. If you would like to join us for the Open House on Saturday, please send an email to: [email protected] 💫 . . #oddkinxweddingcakehouse #curatorialresidency #artandlabor #curatorialtalk #residencyprogram #weddingcakehouseresidency #oddkin #providenceri

ODD-KIN was thrilled to host RISD’s 2nd-year MFA sculpture students today! Loved talking alternative art spaces, supporting artists in creative ecosystems, and taking the P out of professional practice with the amazing Mari Spirito, director and curator of Protocinema—definitely worth checking out. . . #risd #risdmfa #sculpturestudents #protocinema #marispirito #classvisit #oddkin #oddkinprovidence
