OUT TODAY — a new 8-track collection of rhythmic/groove works related to, or inspired by, We Do Recover. Most of the tracks on ‘WDR EP1’ were in play and part of the original album but didn’t fit the story and feeling I wanted to evoke with the 2LP itself. Some listeners will be happy to know that this stuff is purely rhythmic (for the most part—ha)—and so, in some sense, the music connects more closely with my earliest releases on Diagonal, Death of Rave and Mute/Liberation-Technologies. That rhythm itch is growing in me again, so expect more stuff in this vein soon . . .

It was a real privilege to be invited down to @kef.global by @crackmagazine to talk, in much depth, and on video, about the inspirations and difficult life events that led to the music on ‘We Do Recover’. Rarely does a journalist or thinker posses such in-depth knowledge of the things an artist has been doing, so it was a genuine pleasure to go back in time with Tom, and then to relive some experiences, some different phases in my artistic life, and to ultimately chew the fat on everything from pain, grief, love, fatherhood, addiction, stochastic processes — and what Tom described as my search for creative truth.
