Imagine living in a five-bedroom home within a protected woodland setting ☺️.
This was an exciting prototype project which explored the viability of building low-carbon sustainable homes within a commercial setting ⭐️.
Prioritising durability and ecological sensitivity, the home leaves the woodland floor untouched and incorporates no hard landscaping .
Our aluminium glazing was carefully specified, with narrow openings framing single mature trees and preserving privacy from neighbouring homes, while larger windows and bifold doors introduce sunlight and warmth to the home ☀️.

From concept to construction, we are front and center with the ability to bring your metal roof projects to life. It was a delight to work with @studiobloomarchitecture on this breathtaking home in Tunbridge Wells. Gardener’s House was supplied with 300 M² of GreenCoat PLX Pural BT in a Black finish. This structure enclosed with an SSAB standing seam steel envelope and matching box gutters gives the home an eco-friendly finish.
This family home has wonderful views that accentuate the natural light giving a peaceful and unique living experience. Thanks to @ocrpropdev who recently completed this build and helped make this happen.

Green Roofs | Every Flat Roof Should Have One! 💚
We are so delighted to see the green roof flourishing and thriving at Gardener’s House. The beautiful wildflowers can be seen from all sort of places, firstly when you enter the site from the driveway, again from the master bedroom and dressing room, even from the window of the adjacent neighbour - lucky them!
Green roofs are so important for biodiversity, our client is currently taking a course on rewilding, so we are learning more and more about land stewardship and taking care of our natural world.
Sadly green roofs are often part of the budget-cutting process when projects go to tender, so we urge our prospective clients to really set aside some pennies for these beautiful elevated gardens; not only are they stunning to look at but they can help blend a building into its natural environment, add colour, help with rainwater attenuation and provide much needed pollinators for our bee population 🌾🌷🐝

Recessed Rainwater Pipes
We really enjoy taking the time and care to resolve little details for our clients, to try and give them the best building we can. Here’s a little look at one of our recent details on site.
Changing materials across a facade is not without complication. The timber cladding at first floor sits proud of the brickwork below, so we decided to inset the rainwater pipes into the cladding, to create a more elegant detail. Let us know what you think in the comments below! 🤍🙏🏼

At Gardener’s House there are a number of unique moments to view the external architecture from within the building. In this example the soft natural quality of the timber cladding becomes part of the day to day lived experience.
