This ongoing performance series is a collaboration with @drusnoise (Steve Williams), a sustainable energy transition researcher, live techno performer and sound artist. We continuously had and have chats about concepts of nature-culture, specifically plant-human relationships and developed a dance-sound performance, which is based on improvisation and is evolving over time. A recurring topic in our conversations was the idea of decentering "the human", and that it is an illusionary, imperial thinking, that humans could be isolated from "a rest" of a world and be pure. The concept of purity is a concept of western scientific and white supremacist tendencies, to establish certain logics, claiming them as universal and violently pull them over all kinds of ecologies. In the performance, potted plants, which itself have a bound to colonial histories in their paths, become protagonists through making them the integral part of the circulation system of Steve's modular synths. They shape the sound of the room and the movement of the dancer. They play in their own unique scales and notes, not following any convention. FURTHER TEXT IN THE COMMENTS!

Tomorrow 24/04, come to 90MIL for the art school showcase (free entry). At 20:00, the site-specific performance group led by Lauren Pringel will showcase what we have been working on for 2 months. Through corporeality and connection (to the space and other bodies), we will share with you how the last two months resonated with us. Also, we learned that 90MIL used to be a car factory, so we included that in the narrative too. And there will be many other showcases as well! led by @laurenjaynepringle @90milartschool performance by @ochjoa @whyalix @roevardotter__ @naeherdran.ne @lieberjoshua Milan Eric Eva Aron Emma Gabriella Live music by @roevardotter__ @90milmovement Michaelbrücke 1, Berlin

Inside the machine, becoming one piece of an engine ⚙️ ⚙️ ⚙️ That's a glimse on today's session of Site Specific Performance in 90Mil today! 90mil used to be a car factory, so we brainstormed on the concept of industrial machines and toxicity. We created mechanism from our bodies, where shape and collective play was at the center. In reseach today, we represented how bodies could create a machinery through repetitive and glitchy movement, and following a pulse together. We will show you the result of this site specific work on the showcase of the 24th of April in 90mil This workshop is lead by @laurenjaynepringle for the @90milartschool 💛 #sitespecificperformance

___ @philippe.gaspoz — Klavier, Projektleitung Alena Trapp aka Erbse @ochjoa — Performance, Tanz, Gesang, Konzept Livia Brocke @peacorn — Künstlerin 🎟️ Pay what you can an der Abendkasse und im TONALi Ticketshop via link in bio 🪑Freie Platzwahl

SA. Dec 13, 2-6 p.m.: Kontaminiert Werden Magazin #3: Political Humans, Political Plants. An Invitation into the experimental Laboratory – DE/EN Free entry. The building is wheelchair accessible. as part of anatomia publica and Kontaminiert Werden Magazine #3 Tieranatomisches Theater, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin Campus Nord, Philippstraße 13/Haus 3, 10115 Berlin —Deutsche Version in den Kommentaren. The Kontaminiert Werden Network conducts interdisciplinary research on the relationship between humans and plants using artistic, design-based, natural science, and humanities methods. This research reveals how relationships between humans and plants form specific political constellations that are co-shaped by both humans and plants. For the next issue of Kontaminiert Werden Magazin, the question of the political between humans and plants will be placed at the center. What power systems can be identified in this relationship? What forms of plant and human resistance become visible? What ethics determine these relationships? On December 13, 2025, we invite you to a tour of the laboratory. Subsequently, the public is invited to explore these questions with us and actively participate at five different research stations. At the stations, personal experiences, knowledge, and creative ideas will be applied through mapping, speculative fabulation, determining the origins of one's own houseplants, or designing research instruments. The tours will take place at 2 and 4pm. The stations can be visited throughout the entire opening period.

Kontaminiert Werden Labor | 10.12 15:00-17:30: Embodied Knowledge Production: A workshop on Ecosomatics with Alena Trapp and michela filzi - DE/EN as part of anatomia publica and Kontaminiert Werden Magazine #3 Tieranatomisches Theater, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin Campus Nord, Philippstraße 13/Haus 3, 10115 Berlin Deutsche Version in den Kommentaren. In this workshop we take bodyknowledge as a starting point to explore the political dimensions between humans and plants, between subject and object, and between activity and passivity. We work with embodiment as a form of knowledge production and transmission, using it to question exactly these kinds of dualisms. Ecosomatic exercises can be understood as a meeting ground of dance, philosophy, critical theory, and phenomenology. For us, they offer a method to approach the environment not as “a thing” placed before, beneath, or behind us, but to attune to the “through us”. We focus on the constant shifts and changes in bodies and the environment that arise through encounters with more-than-human beings. Thus, one of the central aims of ecosomatics for us is to make the tension between somatic perception (e.g. the use of the senses or the construction of bodily boundaries) and colonial ontologies (parceling, property, the separation of subject/object, etc.) experientially tangible, and to work with this tension in embodied ways. The question raised by author and ecosomatic practitioner Shannon Rose Riley in the book “Geographies in Us” accompanies our workshop design: “How can ecosomatics help us to encounter the world as ‘a swarm of vibrant materials’ or as a ‘many-voiced landscape’?” (p. 27). A embodied mode of (un)learning supports ways of engaging with agency, aliveness, and world-making beyond abstract academic concepts. With Alena Trapp and michela filzi. The workshop is free of charge. The exercises are not specifically dance-related; they are more focused on movement and somatics. No dance skills or prior knowledge are required! The space and all exercises are wheelchair accessible. Register via e-mail: [email protected] or via direct message.
