┗━ this was my second time trying ayer coffee; the first time during their soft opening, where I tried their matcha two (matcha latte w/ matcha foam). the first time, I much rather their double matcha over their blueberry. the initial matcha color was perfect, however, the fruit flavors felt like it took over the drinks completely. the banana matcha was decent but more overpowered by the banana; the matcha flavor was rather minimal. staff was super sweet during each visit and was also very helpful when answering any questions. overall, the drinks were good and there was nothing tastefully wrong. i didn’t feel like any of it was special enough flavor wise in comparison to other places I love for similar drinks. this is definitely a grab and go location with no seats inside.

┗━ yeah .. so … i did have high expectations considering this opening up in one of the biggest and best scenes for matcha ,,, but this was just not for me SIGH. the matcha was funky …? it had almost a sweeter note to it & was rlly overtaken by the added toppings. if your the type to enjoy sweet matcha with no earthy flavor ,, this could be for you! pls keep in mind, they also included some odd toppings to their drinks that honestly made no sense or added anything beneficial LMAO :/ they added a somewhat floral taste to the banana pudding matcha and the mugwort taste was grainy and off-putting although their menu did say the mugwort was imported from korea. they did have some outdoor seating and small bar seats for people wanting to do work but nothing that good for students imo and can be noisy.

┗━ this was such a nostalgic experience as my parents used to buy me coffee soboro buns all the time as a kid :’) as soon as u enter this cafe you can smell all the delicious bread and coffee being made fresh. these buns are buttery bread in the center with a soft crumbly coating on the outside. they’re not too sweet and are perfect to be indulged as a snack or dessert. i could not believe that they had so many variations of the soboro breads. from yogurt chip soboro to cinnamon coffee, each one was so light and fluffy on the inside. the home made milk soft serve is just lightly sweet and a perfect pair with dole whip. they have so many drink options to pick from as well as bing soo. we can’t wait to go back to try their new summer menu!

┗━new cafe in oc!! felt like the @kennylsong tag line was so fitting for this …. 🙈 we tried this cute lil cafe with a cute interior and vibe tucked away in anaheim. they have some desserts as well (really wanted to try butter mochi). the matcha einspanner was not too sweet the matcha flavor was mild and not particularly my fav. i appreciated that it wasn’t a whole dessert but i couldn’t really taste the matcha. the corn latte reminded me a lot of ced’s corn latte! it’s def on the sweeter side and the cream top was heavy/ sat on the top of my drink no matter how many times I mixed it. i haven’t really leaned to much into creamy drinks so I personally had a hard time with this BUT the corn flavor was prominent and the coffee was strong enough to compensate and had no acidity !! we love the new cafes coming in and might be inclined to coming back in the future to retry.

┗━ we have heard lots of mixed reviews abt olive and james. first off, the interior kinda is bar like? kind of like dark ambiance in a hallway and a small amount of seating. as for the drinks, they were very sweet. we both specified that we wanted just a little bit of sweetener but unfortunately when we got the drinks, they were both SUPER sweet. it was hard to taste the hojicha flavor because i feel like hojicha holds onto sweetness more than matcha and it was overpowering the flavor (color speaks for itself tbh😭) the matcha was fine; it had a nice note of flavor but was just so sweet and the cream .. isn’t flavored .. just sweetened. overall, we would possibly be open to trying them again with no sweetness. it wasn’t super surprising especially with all the good matcha spots in LA.

┗━first stop for our day, this minimalistic chinese cafe on the way to LA :0 we had heard abt this new cafe that opened it up and had to try it out. the cream top was slightly salty and liquidy, which is how i prefer them. however, the matcha was pretty mild and muted imo. i couldn’t really taste it but did like that it wasn’t overly sweetened. we don’t like to fault cafes that specialize in coffee for their matcha flavor though because the cloudy latte was rather strong and balanced. the cloudy latte was red date and pear notes with a cream top; it had such a unique flavor that was slightly fruity but still keep a good roasted flavor. it wasn’t overly bitter or acidic at all and honestly tasted good on its own (as I usually prefer my black coffees sweetened more). the cafe has a nice small study area and not too packed. would definitely come again to try other signature drinks and coffee!

we first want to thank @blueynco_cafe for having us experience such a beautiful and cozy home cafe filled with good eats and kind community! they had bunch of tasty eats and drinks inspired by Asian culture, a truly delicious blend highlighting traditional dishes in a modern way!!!! the sisig toast was a personal favorite for us, it was complemented with the perfect soft boiled egg too. the egg sando was so light and fluffy but still so perfectly seasoned :,) the drink combos were such new flavors and perf balance, still strong in flavor of coffee while able to taste the rose!

┗━ this used to be a staple when I first was really obsessed with matcha but the more recent times I’ve been, it’s not performed in the way i remember … 😪 the matcha last time was rlly chalky and almost coating my entire mouth LOL i tried their hojicha as well and it was less intense and average in flavor, nothing super unique to note. the banana pudding had such a weak matcha while the pudding topping was too thick so it was not very enjoyable. i think they have a lot of great matcha options like desserts/ ice creams/ blended options but the plain lattes just didn’t do it for me :(

LETS MAKE A MATCHA COCONUT CLOUD 🥥🤍
- finally got to film this, I’ve been obsessed with this drink esp with how much hotter it’s been in cali rn😭 it’s actually super refreshing and honestly so good for those that don’t like super milk heavy drinks like a latte
“RECIPE” for matcha foam: (enough for 2/3 drinks)
- 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
- splash of milk (help keep the cream from being too thick or dense)
- 1-2 tablespoons of sweetener (i used sugar but would recommend agave or maple syrupy too)
- 1 (or 2🙈) tablespoon of matcha powder (im heavy handed because I prefer a strong matcha flavor)
⭐️ i prefer to whip my heavy whipping cream, milk, and sweetener first until thick but NOT whip cream texture; sort of just to make sure i get the consistency i want! then sift in matcha (helps with clumps) and continue to froth, be careful not to launch powder everywhere!!
⭐️ add this right on top of your coconut water of choice and enjoyyy :3 i love love love harmless harvest, the coconut water is alr perf sweetness and doesn’t have that funky taste that most coconut waters have!
