What a surprise having six (two are still in the hall) @nypd officers walking up to the fifth floor to say “Hi” to @good_boy_marlon !! At almost 10:30pm no less!!
He was so happy to have friends just before both of our bedtimes…
Apparently the @nypd got their intel wrong and sent not one, not two, but six officers to our apartment around 10:20pm (how were those stairs??) because someone complained about a woman “being disruptive.” Marlon and I were home alone (@steinbergingit is in MA, and I can’t imagine her being disruptive enough to warrant six @nypd officers, no matter how much I screwed up!) and we were having fun packing (though not in his eyes).

A few snaps from a quick and impromptu trip to Paris to see some Olympic action and be a tourist.
Caught some races at the velodrome, including the men’s Madison which was incredible to watch in person! The pre-race light show was pretty impressive!
Watched the US Women’s Volleyball team in the gold medal match. They came out with silver, second to Italy, but fun to watch!
Not pictured, but also caught the end of the women’s marathon. So fast!!!
Did touristy stuff like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Louvre.
Side rant about the Louvre visit: I don’t understand how so many people can just take a picture (or worse, a video of the gallery) and then just walk away. Why are you there?! The whole time, person after person just walking up, snapping a picture, walking away. Or walking into a gallery, making a quick video of everything, then moving on. I tried to go to the Mona Lisa (and did see from afar), but it was a mob probably 50 people deep, mostly with phones raised for pictures. Do you think your shitty iPhone photo is going to look better than da Vinci’s work? At one point I was admiring the statue of “Winged Victory of Samothrace” (which is freaking gorgeous!!) and some dude stops DIRECTLY in front of me to take a few pictures, and moves on. Art is here to be experienced, not “consumed.” Art is here to make us think and question, inspire, teach a history lesson, educate, and in general be enjoyed. Taking a picture to show your friends later does none of these thing. End rant.
Yes, I did take a picture of that sculpture from the tomb of Henri Du Mont, because it shows the struggle has been real for centuries
