In collaboration with the Terra Goddesses community of Singapore, HER Planet Earth is pleased to host the premiere of our latest short documentary: Snow Leopard Sisterhood 🎬🐆 Filmed in the remote mountains of Ladakh, Northern India, this documentary follows an all-female team of explorers and advocates on a winter adventure through snow leopard territory. Directed by acclaimed environmental filmmaker Hardik Contractor, the film is a celebration of courage, community, and the urgent need to protect both biodiversity and cultural heritage in a rapidly warming world. 🌍💚 Their journey highlights the critical work of the Snow Leopard Conservancy India Trust — a non-profit dedicated to conserving the endangered snow leopard through community-driven approaches, eco-tourism, environmental education, and the preservation of traditional livelihoods. In 2019, I chanced upon to capture the mesmerising world of traditional Japanese tattoo artists practicing the ancient art of tebori. Despite the taboo surrounding tattooing in Japan and the legal grey zone due to government regulations, I was enthralled by the dedication of these artists to preserve their cultural heritage through their craft.
