Some details of the uniform shirt-jackets for @freeagencynewyork that are currently lost in the mail 🕊️
Upcycled from Cintas work uniform shirts and similar. The idea was to relax the fit, add a zipper, and (importantly) have it still be a shirt not a jacket meaning it’s designed to be comfortable as a first layer. We spent the time to topstitch over every existing seam with a high stitch count and extra thick thread to stabilize the typically sloppy construction you find on these shirts. They are equipped with a single dime button for good luck. This is a process based design that can be repeated on any existing shirt
Buckle back shorts
Upcycled from suit jackets in various wool and linen blends
All focus is given to smart use of the material at hand. Smart pattern cutting and flexible on the fly sewing turn one suit jacket into one pair of shorts with minimal waste fabric. The collars become buckle backs, the front openings become a waistband and flys. They feature a pleated front with original pockets reinforced appropriately for front cargos. A split back and buckle give 4-6 inches of adjustment to the waist. A deep back pocket is cut from the chest of the suit because that portion always has interfacing which strengthens the pocket. They sit right at the knee
These six will be offered as an in store exclusive at @freeagencynewyork
California deermouse shaped object locating device
Available now on our site ❤️
About 2 years ago we bought a lot of 200 pairs of Union Pacific work gloves. To me heavily worn gloves are such a strange object to try and resell I thought it must be rare to find such a big batch of them. Interesting materials in large quantities like this always catch my eye so I bought them without hesitation. Since then I had been searching to find the right project for them, they felt too worn to be functional, too stained to be precious. But the oil and the rust and the black black coal that accumulated on the hands of workers created wear patterns that I could not forget. Lines carved to the Pacific and into the hands of these laborers
Each mouse has unique markings and characteristics that reflect those of the worker who wore them - they range from tan to dark brown. They are designed to covertly hold an air tag
Our supplier sold out of the cot covers we make our overshirts with, BUMMER! One of my favorite products we’ve developed with the most perfect fabric. We have one size M and XXL in hand now but all other sizes will be sold out until we find another source.
