Queenstown landscape architect Jude Van Brandenburg from @jvb_landscape_design approaches each project with a focus on connection, commitment and a sense of fun. His Mill Vista garden balances expansive views of Lake Hayes and The Remarkables with intimate, sheltered spaces, creating moments of openness and enclosure. Layered planting, sculptural elements and considered materials bring depth, movement and seasonal interest, while thoughtful design ensures each space feels both personal and immersive. The result is a landscape that is dynamic, expressive and deeply connected to its environment.

Welcome to “Lupine”, a 14-foot bronze sculpture of ten seed-pod forms, weighing over 7,000 pounds, created in collaboration with my longtime friends Ashleigh and Damien of @object_vb
These forms have been elements of my visual language through 25 years of murals, paintings, and installations: feminine, abundant, futuristic. They rise here in bronze, heavy yet somehow weightless, reminding us to lift our gaze from the scroll and look up.
Inspired by the Mission Blue Butterfly, a rare and federally endangered Bay Area species that survives among coastal lupine, this piece now lives at 200 Twin Dolphin in Redwood City, a life-sciences campus devoted to regeneration and collaboration - the very forces that made this sculpture possible!

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Van Brandenburg Architects in Ōtepoti Dunedin. A small but mighty studio from New Zealand’s deep south that’s making waves on the international stage. It was a real pleasure to meet Damien and hear firsthand about their incredible work.
One of their standout projects is the Marisfrolg Campus in Shenzhen, China, right at the heart of the fashion world. The design captures the elegant movement of a bird in flight, using a thoughtfully chosen palette of locally sourced stone, recycled brick, and reclaimed ceramic tiles.
Sustainability is woven throughout; rainwater is cleverly harvested from the roof, and natural airflow keeps the space cool without leaning on energy-intensive systems.

I felt like I was being transported to the future by visiting the 📍 Dalang Fashion Town in Longhua District. The Architecture was something otherworldly, designed by
Fred Van Brandenburg @Arch_VB .
It hosts up to hundred fashion shows annually and generates an annual output worth tens of billions of yuan.
Just before I watched a Fashion Presentation, I was taken to what felt like an underground VIP dining oasis where I ate, learned and traded some cultural gems from who I would refer to now as my
“AICI Asian Aunties”.
This Fashion Presentation was held in the Marisfrolg Fashion Campus @marisfrolgofficial .
