Where do I even begin. This crew came together at the last hour and backed me so hard. We worked remotely amidst holidays and family life then came together in the flesh for one single day of rehearsal before blasting out a live version of the Chronology of Water score for its LA premiere. Ben Kaplan of @lostfuturerecords my right hand creative partner throughout my last record and everyday since. Beth Fleenor, my deepest collaborator of 21 years and counting bringing the epic magnificent gift that is @crystalbethmusic to the table. Krissy Barker @krissybarx my dear OBJECT AS SUBJECT bandmate who has become an inimitable force, and the enigmatic soft genius that is @saintsalo . These four are the real f*cking deal of artistry + care + clear channels + communication + skill + generosity + levity + depth + listening + communion. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. ALL. You’ll be hearing from us. 🎥 by @elleuu ***And a very special thanks to the brilliant @instrofreak for being our eyes and ears and care facilitator extraordinaire***
Well. She’s here. I did it. WE did it. The Chronology of Water is birthed. Experience her in theaters nationwide!!!!!!! I am incredibly proud of this score––a true and deep behind-the-scenes collaboration with my creative partner and unicorn assistant extraordinaire, Ben Kaplan of Lost Future records, and with the multidisciplinary director, writer, visionary, and brilliance that is, Kristen Stewart. K, I cannot thank you enough for seeing and hearing me through all the noise, trusting me with your flesh and blood, and taking me on the ride.
We’re incredibly proud to announce that Paris Hurley of @object_as_subject created the score to Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut film “The Chronology of Water”, which hits theaters in December! The soundtrack also includes a song by @babelmapmusic and a song by Sleep Maps.
So there’s a lot of Lost Future artists involved with this one. More details to come…
Karaoke with a past self. Re-finding and reclaiming my voice. Again and again and again and again. It is obscene how many years I thought that using my voice as a woman wasn’t enough. F U C K each and every police state and grotesque abuse of power.
“Call her back again. This fire is claiming her kin. The bricks and bees swarming in. They won’t be satisfied.”
Internet! Pals! I am BEYOND, beyond, B E Y O N D to share that I am scoring my first feature length film—— The Chronology of Water, adapted and directed by the truly mind bogglingly BRILLIANT Kristen effing Stewart, featuring an absolutely STUNNING performance by @impoots AND we’re going to Cannes !!!?!?!?!?! I can’t wait for you to see it. We’re all really proud of this one. I will have words later. Right now, I have guttural sounds and a supremely full heart.
A new episode of R I T E S, the podcast, is up and I wrote an intro essay I’m really excited by! ✨ The Very Busy Spider: A Subversive Feminist Text? ✨In it, I continue my conversation on the illegible identities of artist and mother, exploring this classic children’s book and ways the priorities of women—especially mothers—are made monstrous. I made a movement and sounding practice for us. Scream, thrash, shake, simmer, heave, burn, churn, grieve, sense, nourish, feel, breath. Listen + practice: R I T E S | Episode 6 wherever you get your podcasts. 📸 by @daisycuttersound
