We are delighted to present ‘In My Care’, a Curated Selection of Obida Obioha’s Art collection.
‘In My Care’ brings together a selection of works from Obida’s collection that trace an evolving way of looking. These are works acquired across different moments; early intuitions, later refinements, and the gradual shift that comes from sustained proximity to art and artists.
His earliest acquisitions were largely figurative, drawn to the presence of the human form and its capacity to hold narrative, emotion, and recognition. Over time, his collecting has moved toward more contemporary modes of expression; works that engage abstraction, material experimentation, and conceptual restraint.
‘In My Care’ is offered as a reflection on that process: an acknowledgement that taste evolves, but attachment endures, and that to care for art is to allow it to accompany you as you become.

It was a pleasure to welcome the Honourable Minister of Finance, Wale Edun (@finminnigeria ) to the O’DA Art Gallery booth at 1-54 London (@154artfair ) today, October 15, 2025, at Somerset House.
We had the privilege of walking him through our presentation, Lines of Spirit — featuring Simon Ojeaga, Paul Majek, and Afeez Onakoya — three artists whose practices explore the intersections of form, rhythm, and transcendence within contemporary African abstraction.
The presentation reflects O’DA’s ongoing commitment to championing artists who expand visual language while remaining deeply connected to questions of identity, memory, and community.
