🎵Um encontro musical que nunca vou esquecer: eu, Kainã do Jeje e Nate Werth improvisando com o Snarky Puppy! Fui chamado de sopetão pra reencontrar meus amigos do Snarky Puppy. Tocar com essa banda incrível é sempre especial — musicalmente e pela rede de encontros que ela cria. Prova disso é que eu ainda não conhecia pessoalmente o Kainã do Jeje — uma das grandes referências da percussão brasileira. Que coisa linda ter esse primeiro encontro já assim: improvisando livremente numa noite tão especial, diante de uma plateia tão especial! Quem nos recebeu nesse terreno percussivo foi o grande Nate Werth — músico sagaz e parceiro de longa data. E foi assim que se formou esse trio. O couro comeu na introdução de uma música inspirada no jeito brasileiro de tocar funk estadunidense. Viva nossa música afro-brasileira e afro-americana (no sentido mais amplo das Américas)! ----------------------------------- 🎵 A musical encounter I’ll never forget: me, Kainã do Jeje, and Nate Werth improvising with Snarky Puppy! I was called out of the blue to reunite with my friends from Snarky Puppy. Playing with this incredible band is always special — musically, and for the network of connections it creates. I had never met Kainã do Jeje in person before — one of the great references in Brazilian percussion. What a beautiful first encounter: freely improvising on such a special night, in front of such a special audience! Sharing the percussion ground with us was the great Nate Werth — sharp musician and longtime partner. And that’s how this trio came together. The groove hit hard in the intro of a tune inspired by the Brazilian way of playing U.S. funk.
