Welcome to the party pantry 🪩 During our kick-off meeting with our clients, we learned that this little room off the kitchen turns into a dance space post weekend dinners. We loved this idea of kids + adults turning up the tunes, releasing that post entertaining prep adrenaline + letting loose together. To honour the original pink door - a family favourite, we wrapped the room in a fresh coat of pink + went a little bold with the millwork in a jewel-tone radicchio colour. The full-service bar area features a retro fridge, round sink, quartzite countertops, built-in dishwasher, + full height storage with brass accents. A little glam backdrop that leaves lots of floor space to boogie the evening away. The space was part of a full renovation of aToronto 100 year old Ewardian home in the high park neighbourhood. Our team completed the full planning + design, delivering fully coordianted docs to successfully complete this 2 storey restoration project in under a year from planning start to construction completion. Tulip Mania - a cultural + economic Dutch phenomenon that reached peak frenzy in the mid 1600s.  When a single rare bulb could fetch the same price as a house. Here entered the design scene - the tulipière, a multi-stem vase made in the iconic white + blue delftware. A theatrical status symbol that delicately displayed the individual stems + droopy flower heads. Around the corner from our studio Michelle Organ @mima_ceramics is quietly reshaping this story in her own words. Throwing on a pottery wheel is one of the oldest ways humans have shaped vessels, her love for this practice has evolved into a wonderful collection of beautiful, everyday pieces. Our team took a creative day, spending the morning with Michelle to learn the fundamentals. Taking a lump of clay and slowly bring it up into a shape is truly an art, one in patience, technical muscle memory + imagination. Workshops are hosted throughout the year + can be found through her website. We love the final pieces incorporated at project Park Side. At the dining area we placed the tulipière overflowing with buttery yellow, double tulips. Then at the desk sits her olive argyle table lamp, her new exploration into lighting. We spotted this debut collection at Studio North when attending @idstoronto this past January.  Long live tulip mania 🌷🌷🌷 Interior Design + Styling @commongoodstudio Photography @arnalphotography Millwork @timberich_inc GC @nutshellconstructions Major Renovation | Toronto Home | High Park | Restoration | Edwardian | Design Build | Made In Canada | Interior Designer | Project Management | Custom Home | Historic House | Modern Mix | Family Forward |

Restoration, not renovation. For this historic Edwardian home, one of the most important design tools we used wasn’t addition—it was editing. For our team, it begins by understanding what doesn’t need to be there anymore. Not in a reductive sense, but in a clarifying one. Over time, most homes accumulate decision, some intentional, others reactive. Layers build up. Circulation gets slightly interrupted. Proportions lose their original clarity. Our role was to step back and ask: what is supporting the architecture + what is getting in the way? That meant removing visual noise where it existed but also refining relationships between elements. How millwork meets structure, how transitions are handled, how space is read as you move through it. Editing, for us in this context, isn’t about minimalism. It’s about purpose. Defining the difference between a space that feels composed versus one that feels considered. Historically grounded, Project Parkside is rooted within the mature, tree-lined streets of Toronto’s High Park neighbourhood. To breathe new life into the main floor,  a thoughtful balance of preservation + contemporary amenity was explored. For a family who loves to entertain, the kitchen + dining area was expanded + reoriented to create a generous, multi-functional gathering space. Original wood elements were carefully restored + paired with a layered material palette of soft white, vibrant greens, + warm neutrals, a subtle nod to the surrounding park landscape. This time last year our team completed the planning + design, readying for a construction start in Spring. By October, this +100-year-old Edwardian home was ready for its next chapter. Thank you to our clients for entrusting us with this special project, + to the talented construction team who brought our design work to life. Thoughtful design lives in the details you use every day. This custom workspace from the Grenadier project in the Greater Toronto Area was designed as a quiet, functional corner seamlessly integrated into the home through collaboration between the designer, contractor, and our team at TimbeRich. From the built-in desk and cabinetry to the material finishes and proportions, every element was carefully considered to balance usability with the overall design language of the home. It’s these smaller, intentional spaces that often make the biggest difference in how a home feels and functions. Grateful to have helped bring this vision to life. 📍 Greater Toronto Area Designer: @commongoodstudio Contractor: @nutshellconstructions Millwork: @timberich_inc #CustomMillworkGTA #TorontoInteriorDesign #BuiltInCabinetry #CustomWorkspace #GTAHomeDesign
