All of my lovely friends ❤️ The show that I’m a part of, is happening this weekend at a beautiful farmhouse/pottery studio in Titwala - I’ve done composition along with my favouritest @meerasmelodies and I’m performing as a live musician as well- if y’all can come, that would be great! I would love to see your faces there ❤️ It’s as unusual and as immersive an experience as you'll ever have, which is why it’s right at the top for me in terms of the projects I’m part of. Please come 😀 It’s about unsent letters, empathy, sharing a room with strangers, movement, music. As you can see, we laugh, cackle, cry, do everything together and it's been such a beautiful time, spending it with these lovely people. Come spend your weekend with us! Link in bio.

We never dreamt corporate gatherings could be uninhibited, effusive, teary-eyed, belly-laughed, and bounding with anecdotes about Indian boarding schools in the 70s and Indian grandfathers in the 80s. Never have we ever witnessed a warmer hotel banquet hall. If you’d like ‘Unshared Childhoods’ – our dramatic experiment in empathy – to inhabited your workspaces or offices, write in! Looking back at our April season, beginning with our immersive theatre experience inhabiting a co-working space in Powai! “Your show is SOMETHING else! The depth – uff. Highly emotional, beautifully directed, a new style in stage performance. It’s not just a show – it’s every emotion, every struggle, every silent victory / loss coming alive, in front of the world!“ “It was one of the best or maybe the best live experience I have had. I healed a little today, thanks to you and your team.” “Hi Tanvi, I LOVED the show. Absolutely and utterly - LOVED IT. I am sure this is a compliment you’d have received repeatedly after every performance - and yet I am sure it’s worth repeating over and over. I was expressing to Dipna about how I think this is an important and empowering piece of art – and a lot more ordinary folk need to experience it. I’d love to get involved. Still basking in the warmth of yesterday.“ “What you are doing with Jaan theatre is hard to describe in words. The entire show yesterday from the biggest to the minutest details, every little thing, was a beyond imaginable experience! Every artist in your show is a star, and it is so enriching to have been a part of it yesterday. In this big big unending universe, to know I have felt the way I did in the show yesterday, somewhere in a co-working space in Powai on this planet Earth is just beyond any describable statement. I hope every person on our planet can experience what you have so thoughtfully curated. If this isn’t art I dunno what is! I truly hope someday my little daughter who is 3 years old can grow up to witness the magic that was Unshared Childhoods!“ ^ text messages from audience members after our Powai shows. Song credits: ‘Aashiyanein Ki Baat Karte Ho’ – aashiyana meaning ‘home’ – written by poet Javed Quraishi, with music composed by Tassaduq Shad for the famous singer Noor Jehan. Sung here by Jaan favourite Muslim Shaggan. A reminiscence shot and edited by in-house Jaan filmmaker Kuntal Parui. Jaan Theatre’s ‘Unshared Childhoods’ belongs wherever people do. If you’d like to invite us to your workspace, living room, rooftop – write in!

“I didn’t just witness the experience. I lived it.“ “Loved hearing the sound of papers rustling as we all opened the blue papers. Not much ambient paper rustling is heard in 2026.“ “This has been one of the most profound theatre experiences I’ve ever had.“ We had some of our loveliest, most generous audiences ever this past Saturday. Thank you for making the journey to Powai, and rewarding our attempt to take theatre to different neighbourhoods and audiences across Bombay! Many people walked out saying they could never have imagined a co-working space (shoutout, @workof10 !) could feel so warm. If you’d like us to reimagine your workspaces into our performance venue, we’d love to bring ‘Unshared’ to you. Write to us! < Immersive theatre, multi-sensorial theatre, interactive theatre, a dramatic experiment in empathy, live music, live performances in Bombay >

Repetition. We’ve spoken a lot about it this week. The power and beauty of living with a play over years. The conviction it brings to the artists that grow and grow older (and back ache-ier!) with it. On the brink of show day tomorrow, this team is ready to play the game for the 67th and 68th time! While repetition may bring conviction for us, we hope it doesn’t bring complacency for you! While the show must always go on, it cannot last forever. Catch us while you can! Presently: we still have tickets left for our 8 pm show tomorrow, Saturday 18th April. Our 4 pm is nearly sold out. Ticket link in bio! See you tomorrow! < Immersive Theatre, Living Room Theatre, Unshared Childhoods, Bombay performances >

Bombay, we’re back for our final few shows before breaking for summer. An audience member wrote in a postcard testimonial after the show: “When war offers nightmares, this experience offered hope.“ ‘Unshared Childhoods’ is currently housed in an increasingly volatile, insular, and lonely world. We hope we can offer respite, too. And wonder. And a space to contain joy and grief, together. Saturday 18th April, 2026. Tickets likely to sell out fast. Link in bio / DM for the link.
