On a full-moon night in Jamaica, Nyabinghi, one of the most ancient Rastafari ceremonial practices, unfolds as a living ritual in which drums, chants, and fire gather bodies into a shared field of clarity. โTonight we a chant,โ a young Rasta tells German Iraki, author of the book โGet Nuff Nuff Dataโ. โWe a do the opposite of what the evil man a do. Two years ago, we started the studio out of uncertainty, with mixed feelings about the world and what lies ahead (still). It became an inner journey / an attempt to create a place of warmth, peace, and safety while everything around seemed to be collapsing. like a rescue boat..
The space itself was never in perfect condition. We renovated it, and in the process it kept falling apart from the inside. rain seeping in, water dripping, damage and frustration
And yet, in between, something held.
Safe place for everyone who needs it.
A place to sit and draw, to look outside, to turn inward, to get inspired and meet people.
The studio is open, and everyone is warmly invited this Friday at 11:00 to celebrate two years with us.
A huge thank you to all the artists and the golden hands who helped shape this place and carried it forward. To us, it feels like a miracle xo you know who you are โ๏ธ but Iโll try tagging and stuff ๐ค thnx @susoio
