Study model in progress- each model is a snapshot in time. Sometimes it confirms the ideas…it feels right. Sometimes it shows the weaknesses of a design…and it can be difficult to be open to that after you’ve invested so much time in the artifacts. In this case we have work to do 😑🥰
We have been working with @whittleseylandscape on our newest iteration of functional soil- called Urban Soil, named after Jim Urban…who inspired this pursuit for a method of installation that prioritizes soil structure and building of soil biology. Get in touch if you want to hear more about it!

Another great visit in Chicago- with @bonilan in her hometown! We are looking at the machine room within the Cortland Street bridge as a possible trail route for our 3,000lf Chicago River greenway at Foundry Park. Will be posting updates on this exciting(and fast moving) redevelopment effort.
AEG Presents broke ground on Austin’s newest music house - we are so excited to be a part of it and help stitch it into the larger fabric of River Park. The landscape features fantastic shade provided by relocated oak trees, surrounded by a cool native plant community. @bonilan got the gb shovel pic on this one! @garzaemc@works_architecture@presidiumre
Nudge Design manages around 80 container plantings in downtown Austin- it is a fun way to break up office time and gain some plant wisdom. We are working towards a native/adapted plant showcase- and delight/relief for people nearby!
